Deadline: Admissions DeadlineRenewable: NoEligibility Requirements: In order to apply for this scholarship, a student must:attend or plan to attend Concordia Universitybe or have been involved in Drama, Collegiate Theatre or Theatre.Other Info: Theatre activity scholarships are renewed as long as a student is active in the program.  There are two ways to apply for a theatre scholarship: The first, quicker option would be to complete the online theatre interest form; please mark your interest in applying for a scholarship and answer the related questions.  You will then just need to provide a live or recorded audition or supporting technical materials (see #4 below), which you would submit by mail or email, or in person—contact info below. The second way to apply would be to follow the steps below:

1. List your theatre activities in high school, community and/or church.2. Write a statement of your intention to be involved in the theatre program as an activity.3. Have a letter of recommendation from your drama teacher or director sent to the address listed

below.4. Supporting video or other materials (required for either application option):For actors seeking a

scholarship: You may audition in person during a campus visit, or complete a short video or CD ofo a one-minute monologue oro a three- to five-minute scene with a partner.

The video will typically be shot with a camera about six feet away. It does not need to be of an actual, on-stage performance. We prefer that you not send tapes of shows since these are frequently filmed at a distance and it is difficult to see facial expressions. We want to see both facial and physical expressions, as well as vocal characterization and quality in your presentation. For those seeking a technical theatre production scholarship: Technical theatre production applicants do not have to send an audition tape, but they should send documentation of their work in technical theatre. Send photographs of designs, costumes, properties, or information about activities in stage or house management.

5. Early consideration will be made for applicants who submit their form/materials prior to December 15 of their final year before entering CUNE.  All scholarship applications received before February 15 of the year in which the student intends to enter CUNE will be considered based on availability.

2. Complete your ScholarshipQuest profile.

You will receive a list of scholarships that match your profile.  Scholarships might include awards through your school, community or the college you plan to

attend.

ScholarshipQuest will save your profile if you log in to MyEducationQuest at least every nine months.

What you should know about scholarships

Start applying for scholarships your junior year and continue throughout your senior year and while you’re in college. Other sources for scholarships include your guidance office, the college you plan to attend, and national search sites.

How to Find ScholarshipsThousands of local, state and national scholarships are available – and you may qualify for many of them. Here are a few places to look:

ScholarshipQuest features over 2,000 Nebraska-based scholarships. After you create a profile, you’ll be matched with scholarships that fit your criteria.

Your school counselor’s office. Visit at least once a month during your senior year to check on local and national awards.

The college you plan to attend. Contact the school for a list of scholarships and application procedures.

National search sites such as College Board, Peterson’s and Good Call.

Page 52: accounseling.weebly.com€¦  · Web viewAdams Central Senior Scholarship Newsletter. OCTOBER 2019. Seniors…3 must-do tasks for this fall! Apply to your top college choices. Create

Other resources could include your coach, clubs and organizations, and your parents’ employers and civic organizations.

Most scholarships are based on academics, but others are based on community service, school involvement, or talent in art, dance, music, or athletics. Some are based on financial need as measured by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Therefore, to earn scholarships, earn good grades, get involved in your school and community, and complete the FAFSA.

Follow these tips!

Organize scholarships in deadline order and set aside time each week to work on them. Focus on college-based and local scholarships. You’re more likely to earn them over large

national awards. On the application, list your activities, awards, honors classes and volunteer or paid jobs.

Track them using the Activities Resume. Earn the best possible ACT/SAT scores by taking the exams in the spring of your junior year

and again in the fall of your senior year. If an application requires a letter of recommendation, give the person writing the letter plenty

of notice, a specific deadline, and a list of your accomplishments and activities. After writing an essay, ask an English teacher to review it. Don’t ever pay for scholarship services! Talk to your school counselor or contact

EducationQuest about free resources.
