Register System
iPad:o iPad should always remain plugged ino Do Not Update any Apps!!! If pop ups show asking to update, decline them.o iPad should not be removed from Square Stando Do Not watch movies or stream music on iPad o Do not move apps around o Do not download anything
Receipt Printer:o Extra receipt paper rolls are in clear tub on cash bar shelfo When replacing paper roll remember to remove previous roll’s black tube and then place new
roll with paper coming up from bottomo There will sometimes be a delay between hitting print receipt and when it begins to printo Printer can only print items from the Square App
Cash Drawer:o To open cash drawer key must be in a vertical position (leave in this position)o To lock cash drawer key must be in a horizontal positiono There is only one key for the cash box so do not remove it
Square Stand:o Stand can swivel so that you can turn it toward customer for signature and back o There is tape on bottom of stand that helps protect the stand cord. Do Not remove the tape.o Cards without chip readers are swiped on the stand

Square App:
We can accept all credit cards, apple pay, google pay, and samsung pay NEVER uninstall and reinstall the square app, even if you are having issues with it

This is the cart that shows you what is being purchased as you scan or manually enter items The only time you would type a price into this calculator is when a Dewey’s item will not scan and you
can’t find it in the library Once sale is rung up click blue button that says “Charge”

Checkout: This is the main tab you will be in Orders: You will not use this tab Invoices: You will not use this tab Transactions: This tab will let you look up past transactions, and reprint a receipt Reports: Where we will print our daily sales totals for balancing drawer, and can print our sales reports.
(You are offered the chance to print or email sales reports. NEVER email the report only print it, it will only email to the Dewey’s Corporate Office)
Deposits: You will not use this tab Customers: You will not use this tab Items: You will not use this tab Settings: Will only need when talking to Dewey’s Corporate for troubleshooting issues Sign Out (tab is not shown above): NEVER USE THIS!!! We will have to call Dewey’s to fix.

You will use this tab in two instances:o First: to input Non-Dewey’s items (band shirts, candles, etc)o Second: if the scanner breaks
To input Non-Dewey’s items you will: o Click the button “Location Specific Items-Holiday”o On next screen click “Location Specific Item Variable”o It will then pull up manual entry so that you can type in the priceo In notes type in code from Non-Dewey’s Price Sheeto If you do not click Location Specific Item but just type it into the manual entry calculator then
Dewey’s will assume it is one of their items and we will only receive 35% of the cost instead of us receiving 100%
Reprinting a Receipt
Sometimes the app ends the transaction without giving you a menu asking to print the receipt or someone wants a gift receipt, or the simply want another receipt printed. Follow these steps.
Click the Setting Tab Click the Transactions tab Find the transactions among the list on the left Click New Receipt to print again
