EGSS “Emergency” Council Meeting

1. Solidarity Application

For the year plan on $3000 for events

CS – split it 60/40, last year they spent more reserves on long-term expenses than

solidarity fund. Might be because they bought a mac

Any problem with the event? NO

They sent a more specific budget and they have confirmed guests, 80 people and gave

breakdown for breakfast they chose.

Can’t argue for their budget.

Need to promote solidarity fund and create an application – JA and DH

Pick a day for upcoming year for applications

o Maybe twice a semester

o Align it with travel funds including deadline and when money is needed

o Would be $1000 each

o Going to make a Google form

o Also stipulate that they need a detailed budget breakdown, justification for why

the need funding, willingness to promote EGSS, and if people are already

interested in their event

$350 is fair, since still have time when site is updated for other people to send in their

applications, EM, AO, CS, JA, DH

o would cover $4 per person

DH responding with $350 given budget restraints

Same people can apply more than once

CS has checkbooks, will put in office

2. BBQ

DH does not have time to make a newsletter handout for BBQ. JA can do it

3. GA

We have empty positions, have to open it for a week to submit nomination forms. If we

plan that open for a week before ga, can open second week for positions that are still

open. Then we have to host the voting process. Will open September 12 since GA is

week of the 19th.
