At KC Massage Therapy we put people first. Our main goal is to provide you with professional and therapeutic massage, helping you to relax, feel nurtured, and heal. We believe in being ethical,

giving back, and finding joy in our work.

In order to fulfill these goals, and maintain a positive, professional environment, we have provided the following policies and procedures.

Arrival TimeIn order to provide you with a relaxing, therapeutic massage tailored to your specific needs, we ask new clients to arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete an intake process with your massage therapist.

Established clients are asked to arrive no later than five minutes prior to scheduled massage. This will allow us to maintain a professional schedule and provide you with a productive, relaxing massage.

Late ArrivalWe understand that being late is sometimes inevitable; in this circumstance your massage time may be shortened with original treatment time still being charged. Exceptions may be made according to the therapist’s schedule and discretion.

CancellationPlease give your therapist 24-hour notice if you will need to miss your appointment. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee of one half (½) of the payment of the original treatment due prior to receiving any additional treatment.

A client who cannot make their appointment may opt to give their appointment time slot to another pre-existing client with no cancellation fee. In this case, the appointment switch must be arranged between the two clients and notice must be given to the therapist in advance.

No ShowA client who does not show up to their appointment and does not notify their therapist with at least 24-hour notice will be expected to pay the full price of the missed massage prior to receiving their next treatment.

Minors Minors are welcome to receive treatment at KC Massage Therapy. In order for children under the age of 18 to receive massage, parents are required to give written consent and be present for the duration of each session.

Referrals

At KC Massage Therapy, we value you as clients! We know that we cannot do it without you, and as such offer $10 off of any massage treatment to you and each person that you refer.

Informed consentAt the beginning of each session, your treatment plan will be explained to you by your therapist. Your input is valued and encouraged and will help to determine the best plan of action regarding treatment. All new clients will be required to sign an informed consent form stating they understand the policies and procedures and agree to abide by them.

It is your responsibility to notify your therapist of any changes in your health condition.

Privacy Policy Client records and health histories are kept in highest confidence. At KC Massage Therapy we strictly respect your rights and adhere to laws regarding patient confidentiality. Files will only be viewed by massage practitioners directly involved in your care. Information will not be released to any third parties without your written consent including relatives, other medical personnel, and/or insurance companies. Records may be surrendered if required by law.

Payment policiesPayment for each visit will be required at the end of each session. Payment may be made in the form of cash, debit or credit card, Venmo or trade. If a cash payment is intended, client is responsible for ensuring they have correct change.

Failure to pay will result in discontinuance of services. If the client wishes to continue treatment, payment must be rendered prior to any further service.

Trades must be verbally agreed to by both parties prior to any goods or services being exchanged. Written agreement may be required if deemed necessary.

Personal Hygiene In order to provide you with a thorough, focused massage we ask that you shower and practice good hygiene prior to receiving your massage. Doing so is courteous to your therapist, other clients, and creates a more relaxing environment for you as well.

Respect for Your Needs & BoundariesAt KC Massage Therapy, your needs and comfort come first. Your therapist is happy to adjust pressure, temperature, technique, work longer on an area, or move on if you request it. Please be open with your therapist before, during, and after the massage to ensure you receive the best care.

You may choose to disrobe to your comfort level, stop the massage at any time, and/or refuse a certain technique or procedure. You will always be modestly draped, and only the area being worked on will be exposed. Areas such as the pectorals, glutes, and abdomen will not be massaged without prior consent and may be worked on over clothing or sheets. The breast and genital areas will not be massaged under any circumstance.

Conduct Inappropriate behaviors, comments, or gestures will not be tolerated under any circumstance. Suggestive comments, sexual innuendos, or inappropriate touching of the massage therapist will result in immediate termination of the session,

discontinuance of treatment, and payment will be expected in full. Conduct of this nature is taken very seriously and will be reported to a law enforcement agency.

You may choose to converse or not during the massage, but we ask that conversations on politics, private matters, or otherwise inappropriate content be avoided.
