Name : Anna Surname : Lomtadze Age : 24 Education/Career: New york University(NYU) University College London(UCL), Harvard University Internship at UN (united nations) 1. Hello ,Anna it is my pleasure to have an interview with a Georgian girl who studies at HARVARD university . Tell me ,more about yourself. Pleasure is all mine. Except being regular 24 year old girl, things that are worth mentioning about myself are related to my academic life. I have recently finished my Master degree at University College London in politics and Russian studies, and almost done with graduate courses at Harvard University in the field of conflict resolution and leadership. 2.As i see, you lived in United kingdom too? when and why did you move there? First time I moved to London I went to do A levels courses in Politics, Math, Russian, Business and Accounting. The reason to seek education abroad, has very understandable reasons. By that time I was sixteen and whole studying abroad thing although excited me, but it was still very difficult to live away from home, family and friends. After numerous days of crying by myself I decided to continue both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in London. 3. It looks like that you went through a difficult time , how did you feel about living with someone else? Well, personally I had very good experience with that- I do not like living by myself thus a roommate has always been a must. Of course it is always challenging at the beginning , it is not easy to share your personal space with someone- we are all humans and living together exposes our negative features along with positive. 4.. From your academic history I can make an assumption that you are a rebellious person. Are there any things you do that counts as rebellious? That is an interesting question.. Power and success does not stem from the gender, it stems from the motivation, from hard-work, from education and willingness to succeed. For me being rebellious is also being able to challenge things, to ask questions constantly and to dismiss what is conventional. 5.Let’s talk more about Harvard. What qualities and experiences did you have that made you a good candidate for Harvard program? Sometimes I think that everything that I have achieved so far, including being graduate of UCL that ranks 4th in the world, and lately that of Harvard was a present of a luck. But it is only partially true, I think what made me good candidate for Harvard program must be specific features that I have portrayed throughout my academic and professional life. 6.What did you learn in Harvard?

Hello ,Anna it is my pleasure to have an interview with a Georgian girl who studies at HARVARD university . Tell me ,more about yourself.Pleasure is all mine.

Besides academics, definitely significance of perseverance ! it is a very important factor if you want to succeed as there always going to be obstacles, whether it will be personal or career related that will hit you hard; success on the other hand only comes as you respond to those challenges with perseverance and come out of the situation even stronger. That is a big lesson Harvard gave me, and it will stay with me . 7.What percentage of the time do you expect to study? I must admit that academics takes up a lot of our time, but you can always find enough time to rest, have fun and travel. Time management skills- that is all you have to master, and university provides a good opportunity for that.

8. You live abroad almost 5-6 years, what do you miss the most? I do not even need to think about that- home and everything that is attached to the feeling of being home. Comfort, warmth of family, peace of mind are some of the feelings that can hardly ever be replaced by any study-abroad experience.

9. Tell more about your family , and their role in your life? I am blessed to have an amazing and big family, with parents, a brother and two sister. My parents are the biggest supporters to me- my safe place where I can be completely off guard. My

sisters are my best friends, and my brother is my main man in whole world, maybe after my father:)

10. How do you see yourself in the future? Do you intended to come back to Georgia?I have spent years of studies on the political, social and economic topics that would be relevant to my country. From the very beginning, until now, I had in my heart that I would go back to Georgia as I gained sufficient skills to support my country. I am reaching my finish line on that goal, and hope to serve Georgia for the rest of my life. Let’s say in 10 years time, I hope I will be a rising “brick” both for my family and for my country. It was very nice talking to you Anna ,and good luck in your future plans in politics, we will always gladly welcome you home. Thank you very much , it was my pleasure too .
