July 6, 2020 Bulletin Announcements LANGUAGE FOR REPORTING SEXUAL MISCONDUCT: The Diocese of Kalamazoo has and will continue to cooperate with the Michigan Attorney General’s investigation and encourages anyone with information related to misconduct to call the reporting number set-up by the Michigan Attorney General’s office at: 844.324.3374 The Catholic Bishop Abuse Reporting Service (CBAR) has been established to receive reports of sexual abuse and related misconduct by bishops and to relay those reports to proper Church authorities for investigation. To make a report, visit ReportBishopAbuse.org or phone (800) 276-1562. When a report includes a crime, such as the sexual abuse of a minor, it will also be reported to civil authorities. 49th Anniversary and Jubilee Celebration Mass, Tuesday, July 21, 4 p.m.

St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Portage

The Diocese of Kalamazoo celebrates the 49th Anniversary of establishment as a local church on July 21, 2020, marking the beginning of our 50th Jubilee Year which will be celebrated on July 21, 2021. To celebrate both the 49th Anniversary and our Priest’s Jubilee a Celebration Mass will be hosted at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Portage. At this special Celebration Mass the Holy Oils, which were blessed at the Chrism Mass in April, will be distributed to each Parish. Registration for this Mass will be required, details for registering will be forthcoming.

Teen Bible Study, Mondays, 7 p.m.

Adult Bible Study, Tuesdays, 7 p.m.

Diocese of Kalamazoo Position Opening: Tribunal Administrator & Ecclesiastical Notary The Diocese of Kalamazoo Tribunal Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Tribunal Administrator & Ecclesiastical Notary. The ideal candidate is proficient in Microsoft Word, possess a high degree of confidentiality and diplomacy and has understanding and knowledge of the Catholic Church’s Sacrament of Marriage. This position is responsible for the clerical processing of cases submitted to the Tribunal and for interacting with those seeking the services of the Tribunal. In Memoriam – Bishop Emeritus James A. Murray

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Bishop Emeritus James A. Murray who was laid to rest on June 11. A Memorial Mass for Bishop Murray is being planned for August 2, 2020 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Portage. Registration for this Mass will be required, details for registering will be forthcoming.

Public Masses Resumed

Guidelines and FAQs for returning to public Mass may be found at diokzoo.org/public-return-to-mass. The dispensation from the Sunday obligation to attend Mass is granted to all the faithful through September 6, 2020.

Walking with Moms in Need: A Year of Service

In times such as these, pregnant and parenting mothers in poverty or who are facing other challenging circumstances need our help. To participate in Walking with Moms in Need: A Year of Service contact your pastor to volunteer to be part of the parish team or, if your parish does not have a team, simply reach out to mothers and pro-life pregnancy care centers that serve them to ask them what support they need and/or pledge to pray for moms in need in your community. A Diocesan Walking With Moms in Need initiative will kick off on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2020 and continue through March 2021.
