About K.S.S.E.MThe Kammavari Sangham, established in the year 1952, is a non-profit oriented voluntary service organization. The organization was created with the objective of providing charitable service to the community and society. The Sangham has diversified its activities since its establishment over five decades ago. Now it has expanded its horizons to include community-strengthening ventures, providing education and financial support to the society. With a firm belief that quality education only can lay a strong foundation for bringing about economic & social changes to the lives of millions, the Sangham went about establishing educational institutions, starting with K.S. Polytechnic in 1992. Enthused with this success of its foray into technical education, the Sangham then started the K.S Institute of Technology (KSIT), its first Engineering College in the year 1999. In the following years both these institutions have carved for themselves an enviable niche through academic excellence achieved in a very short span of time. Following the success of KSIT, the Sangham ventured onwards to start yet another technical institution, oriented towards advanced studies and research, and thus, the K.S Group of Institutions (KSGI) was born in 2010. KSGI was renamed as K.S.School of Engineering & Management in 2011.

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2010 and offers four year degree course leading to Bachelor degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The Department aims at producing well qualified Engineers for the nation and also across the globe. The Department has eminent faculty with wide range of experience in research, teaching, training and field experience which will help the students to gain practical knowledge which is very essential for their future endeavors.

Electrical & Electronics engineering is the foundation of all the engineering fields. Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. The bachelor's degree generally includes units covering physics, mathematics, computer science, project management, and a variety of topics in electrical as well as electronics engineering. Initially such topics cover most, if not all, of the subdisciplines of electrical engineering. From the Global Positioning System to electric power generation, electrical engineers have contributed to the development of a wide range of technologies. They design, develop, test and supervise the deployment of electrical systems and electronic devices. For example, they may work on the design of telecommunication systems, the operation of electric power stations, the lighting and wiring of buildings, the design of household appliances or the electrical control of industrial machinery.

Research and Consultancy

WORKSHOP & SEMINARS CONDUCTED

Department of Electrical and electronics Engineering is actively into research and consultancy. Department has completed a project on “Fabrication of a conducting polymer nano fiber gas sensor based on electrospinning” funded by VGST (Vision Group on Science and Technology) government of Karnataka.

T h e Te c h n i c a l a s s o c i a t i o n wa s inaugurated on 28/2/2011 at Aryabhata Hitech Seminar Hall, K.S. Group of Institutions, Bangalore. To supplement the core electrical engineering curriculum, the students are also encouraged to participate in activities related to personality development. The students are given inputs on personality development and soft skills.

Students organize various programs, site visits and industrial trips.

Workshop on Design and execution of Electrification of Residential and Commercial Installations on 18th and 19th of April 2013 for IV sem and VI sem Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students:

An Advanced Robotics Workshop was conducted on the 4th and 5th of March 2011 by robotics experts from RoboGenesis. Students of our department participated in this workshop and constructed line follower robots.

A guest lecture on “An overview of power system” was delivered on 07-09-2011 by Mr.Dwarakanath, an Electrical consultant from Bangalore.

A guest lecture on “Pursuit of the Hitech Career” was delivered on 29-02-2012 by Mr. Shrihari Bhat of Sri Consulting Services Bangalore. He also delivered a lecture on “Soft Skills”.

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering conducted a four day faculty development programme sponsored by VGST on “ Recent Advances in nano Devices and Sensor Technology” from 8th July -11th July 2013.

Students underwent Internship programmes in reputed public sectors such as BHEL, ABB, HAL etc.

It is a credit to our department that our students are excelling in the university examinations continuously for the past two years.

Third semester Electrical and Electronics Engineering students visited Diesel Power Plant at Yelahanka Bangalore on 21-10-2011.

Fourth semester Electrical and Electronics Engineering students visited Sharavathi Hydel Power plant situated in Shimoga district on 30th April 2012.
