THANK YOU: To my home church, I thank you all more than words can say for your continued love, support, and prayers. God has worked a miracle in my life by giving me this new lung. KIDS DAY OUT: It’s time for Pre-Registration for the next year of Kid’s Day Out. We are excited to announce that we will be providing KDO in two locations this year. There will be a Monday & Wednesday program at Encounter (5911-4th Street, Lubbock) and a Tuesday & Thursday program at FBC, Shallowater. Classes will begin on September 2nd, 2014 for the KDO at FBC and September 3rd, 2014 for KDO at Encounter. CHOIR, ENSEMBLE AND CHRISTMAS CHOIR RETREAT: The retreat will be from 4-6PM, Saturday August 23rd for choir and ensembles in the Choir room. All present and prospective choir members are invited. The Ministerial Staff will be in the Worship Center Foyer immediately following each service today.

During our 11 AM service we stand for extended periods of time. Please feel free to remain seated if you are unable to stand.

KIDZVILLE is for children ages Nursery to 6th Grade

Nursery and Preschool classes are available through the summer.

LITTLE BITS: is a special class designated for 2 and 3 year olds. This class will begin on Sunday, August 24th in Room 100 during the 11 AM service.

KINDER CHURCH: is a new service dedicated to Pre-K and Kindergarteners. This service will begin on Sunday, August 24th in Room 206 during the 11 AM service.

KIDZ CHURCH: is for children ages 1-4th Grade and will resume August 24th in the Kidz Church room.

KIDZ CHURCH TEAM MEETING: Wednesday, August 20 at 7:00PM in Kidz church. Please come if you would like to help in anyway! First Kidz church service starts back August 24th at 11:00AM.

KIDS WEDNESDAY NIGHT TEACHER MEETING: Tonight, Sunday August 17th at 5:00PM in Kidz church. If you are teaching or helping on Wednesday nights, with the kids classes please come to this very important meeting. Teaching material and schedules will distribute at the meeting.

HNL Ministries is for 7th-12th grade Students

STUDENTS MONDAY NIGHT PRAYER GATHERING: This group meets each Monday night at 6:30 PM in the home of Zack and Rebekah Holder, 821 Ave S.

ENCOUNTER UMIN is for young adults 18-24 years old

UNIVERSITY MINISTRY CONNECTION GROUP: Meets each Sunday morning at 11 AM at Encounter.

The Living Room Sessions: This is a college worship service that takes place Tuesday nights at 8PM in the Encounter Worship Center. It kicks off August 26th.

UMIN COOKOUT: The University Ministry is having a cookout at the home of Nate and Kelsey Harrison on Tuesday, August 19th, at 6:30pm. The address is 507 Iola Avenue in Lubbock. All current and incoming college students are welcome!

ENCORE MINISTRY is for Adults 55 years and older

ENCORE FIRST MONDAY: Now is the time to start signing up for the First Monday coming up on September 8th. You can sign up in your Connection Group or call 832-4511 to sign up for the meeting and reserve a spot for the meal. The program will be a musical by singer Jack Stone. Jack has recorded several albums and has had the privilege to sing on several TV shows around the country as well as sing concerts nation wide. He offers Gaither style music. The program begins at 10:30AM followed by a meal at 11:30AM in the ROC. Tickets for the meal need to be purchased by September 3rd.    

   

You must realize that God loves you but you are separated from God by a sinful nature.

Roman 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

You must believe that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ as a payment for sin.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Although humanity through sin has separated itself from God, the sacrifice of Jesus, on the cross, bridged that gap.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us.”

All that God asks is that you repent (turn away) from your sins and accept the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross for those sins.

Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

You can make your commitment by coming forward during the song of commitment after the sermon and visiting with one of our pastors or by placing the card in the offering plate and one of our pastors will contact you. You can become a member in the following ways: 1.  By accepting Jesus Christ in your heart as your personal Lord and Savior and being obedient to the Lord’s command to be Biblically baptized. Biblical baptism is a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is by immersion in order to symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. 2.  By letter of recommendation from a church of like faith and order. 3.  By statement that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have placed your faith in Him as Savior and Lord and have been obedient to a Biblical baptism.
