SENIOR CITIZENS LUNCH TODAY: A fried catfish lunch will be served from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the Senior Citizens Center. The price will be $7.00 per plate.

REMINDER! We will NOT change our clocks on Sunday, March 9th until AFTER church that Sunday morning.

FIT FOR THE MASTER: Bill Bryant, an ordained Baptist minister and missionary to Scotland, and a black belt, will begin a Tae Kwon-Do class in the Reach Out Center beginning on March 15, 2014. This will be a ministry of FBC using physical fitness and a Christian based message as a way to reach our community for Christ. Bill offers a structured TKD class, which provides the training necessary for the student to attain their belt at any other martial arts school they may attend. He will also provide training to those interested only in the fitness aspect minus the structured TKD training. This class will be held in the ROC on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. There will be a $5.00 a month fee to cover the cost of the belts and training equipment. This is open to all ages, however 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. ADULT CONNECTION GROUP ANNOUNCEMENTS: Opportunities to GROW together are presented through the many Connection Groups that meet Sunday morning at 9:49 AM and throughout the week. Connection Group information is posted on the walls throughout the building, and is also available at the Connection Center and on the church website: www.firstshallowater.org

CONNECTION CAFÉ: Connection Café is open for breakfast each Sunday morning from 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM in the ROC.

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY: Meets at 9:45 AM in the Chapel. This class is studying the book of Psalms and is led by Richard Harbison.

RESURRECTION CHOIR: We will have a special choir for Resurrection Sunday, April 20th. We will be singing two songs both here at FBC (8AM) and at Encounter (11AM). The practice dates are March 9th, 23rd and 30th and April 13th at 5:00PM in the Worship Center. Please note there is NO Practice today.

LADIES CHOIR: The Ladies Choir will be practicing today at 4PM and again March 2nd at 4PM. We will sing March 9th here at the 8:30AM service and at Encounter at the 10:30AM service.

invitation time. God is working in people's heart and it's our desire to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit during that time. We understand emergencies

KIDS DAY OUT: It is time for pre-registration. If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Kids’s Day Out program for the 2013-2014 year please contact Gayle Burgett. (548-2127 or gayle @firstshallowater.org) We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will begin on September 3rd.  

KIDZ CHURCH: For children ages Kinder – 4th grade. During the 11:00 AM service each Sunday morning, in Kidz Church.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY FAIR BREAKFAST: For parents and kids -March 9th from 9:00 - 9:45 AM in Kidz Church. This will be directly before connection group classes. We will have a come and go breakfast and ministry fair. This fair is for parents to sign up for different service opportunities in the children's and preschool areas. We need parent or adult volunteers to help in our Kidz church service and preschool class during the 11:00 hour. Please come and see where you can help!! We need you to serve and be involved in your child's spiritual walk with Christ!

ENCORE: Our next First Monday event is March 3rd at 10:30AM in the ROC. Our guest speaker is Cary Allen of KCBD weather. Cary does the Pay It Forward program at the station and will be sharing with us about his work and personal testimony. The program is free. The meal is $5.00 and is catered by Big Robb Johnson. The menu is chopped steak with brown gravy, mashed potatoes, salad, brownie and tea. Meal reservations are due by March 2nd. You may call the office at 832-4511 for reservations.

You must realize that God loves you but you are separated from God by a sinful nature.

Roman 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

You must believe that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ as a payment for sin.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Although humanity through sin has separated itself from God, the sacrifice of Jesus, on the cross, bridged that gap.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us.”

All that God asks is that you repent (turn away) from your sins and accept the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross for those sins.

Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

You can become a member in the following ways: 1.  By accepting Jesus Christ in your heart as your personal Lord and Savior and being obedient to the Lord’s command to be Biblically baptized. Biblical baptism is a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is by immersion in order to symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. 2.  By letter of recommendation from a church of like faith and order. 3.  By statement that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have placed your faith in Him as Savior and Lord and have been obedient to a Biblical baptism.
