JOSH WILSON CHRISTMAS CONCERT DECEMBER 23RD: We are pleased to announce that Josh Wilson will be in concert here in the Worship Center on Monday, December 23rd at 7 PM. We are now selling tickets for this concert in the church office and in the foyer on Sunday mornings. General admission is $10.00 and V.I.P. admission is $25.00. V.I.P. admission includes a meal with Josh Wilson and up front seating. Get your tickets early they will not last long.

Please join us tonight at 5 PM for the Christmas Musical “Glory in the Highest” in the Worship Center. A meal will follow in the ROC.

During our 11 AM service we stand for extended periods of time. Please feel free to remain seated if you are unable to stand.

KIDS DAY OUT: It is time for pre-registration. If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Kids’s Day Out program for the 2013-2014 year please contact Gayle Burgett. (548-2127 or gayle @firstshallowater.org) We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will begin on September 3rd.  

KIDZ CHURCH: For children ages Kinder - 4th grade. Your kids are invited to this special service just for them on Sunday mornings at 11:00AM. We are in need of parents or volunteers who would love to help in teaching kids great and powerful Biblical truths. Please call Julie Batten at 535-7641 if you are interested in helping in any way. Please mark your calendar, we will not have Kidz Church on Sunday, December 22nd or Sunday, December 29th.

JUST A REMINDER: We will not have Wednesday activities on December 25th and January 1st. We will resume our regular schedule on January 8th.

KIDS FUNDRAISER MEAL - Sunday night, Dec. 15th - after the Lord's supper service we will have a meal provided by Big Rob and all Kids from 2nd - 6th grade who would like to help serve are encouraged to come and help. All the donations that are given on this night will go to help you with the cost of camps or kids mission trip this summer. Come for a great night of service and fellowship. Please call Julie Batten at 535-7641 if your child would like to help and serve this night.

CHRISTMAS PARTIES- WED. DECEMBER 18TH - Each class will have Christmas parties this night during their regular class time. Each child is encouraged to bring a canned food for the South Plains Food Bank. Please come for a great night of fun and giving back to others.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT SCHEDULE: 6:10 PM Pizza served in the ROC (Please note: the price of the pizza is .50 cents a slice.) 6:30 PM Worship in the Worship Center. YOUTH CHRISTMAS PARTY: Wednesday, December 18th at 6:10 PM pizza will be served in the ROC. We will have parties with our small groups following our meal.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: We will have Bryan Drake, a magician, here for our youth worship service on Wednesday, January 8th at 7 PM in the Worship Center. You don’t want to miss this special night.

NEW YEAR’S EVE GATHERING FOR SENIOR ADULTS: There will be a special event for senior adults on New Years Eve at the church in the Kids Church area starting at 6:30 PM until midnight. Please bring finger food and your favorite game. We will enjoy the food and games and see the New Year in. For more information please contact Bobbie Johnson at 832-5925.

ENCORE FIRST MONDAY: Our next First Monday will be January 6th at 10:30 AM. Our featured speaker will be Major Tim Grider of the Salvation Army. This will be an excellent opportunity for all of us to learn the great things the Salvation Army does. The meal will be chicken spaghetti, French bread, salad, dessert and tea or coffee. Meal tickets can be purchased for $5.00 by January 5th. You may purchase them through the church office or your Connection Group.

   

You must realize that God loves you but you are separated from God by a sinful nature.

Roman 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

You must believe that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ as a payment for sin.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Although humanity through sin has separated itself from God, the sacrifice of Jesus, on the cross, bridged that gap.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us.”

All that God asks is that you repent (turn away) from your sins and accept the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross for those sins.

Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

You can make your commitment by coming forward during the song of commitment after the sermon and visiting with one of our pastors or by placing the card in the offering plate and one of our pastors will contact you. You can become a member in the following ways: 1.  By accepting Jesus Christ in your heart as your personal Lord and Savior and being obedient to the Lord’s command to be Biblically baptized. Biblical baptism is a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is by immersion in order to symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. 2.  By letter of recommendation from a church of like faith and order. 3.  By statement that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have placed your faith in Him as Savior and Lord and have been obedient to a Biblical baptism.
