2018 NTXCLC REGIONAL MEET AND TOYS FOR TOTS
We are all are very excited about the festivity coming up, our 34th Regional and combined with the Annual
Toys For Tots program. It should be an outstanding show of cars at Frank Kent Cadillac, 3500 West Freeway
I 820, in Ft. Worth, TX (See page 7 for a map) Saturday December 8th, from 9am to 3 pm.
You get to show your prize possession and let everyone decide who are the Winners.
We will also have our tasty BBQ at 1P M.
We will also have elections for officers. See page 7
So come on out and enjoy the park, the cars, and the camaraderie of our great NTXCLC club. REMEMBER
this is your club, so participate.
Bill Kaufman has been working hard to make it the greatest show in several years.
SO we will be looking for every member to show up for your free show and dinner.
WE need to have a great showing of cars from Dallas and surrounding area.
And don’t forget to fill the trunk of that big Caddy with lots of toys for girls and boys for the Marine Corps
Reserve Toys For Tots program. We always have a good showing for that.
One more special item. We now have a NTXCLC Club Breakfast Social at the Café de France, 17370 Preston Rd #505, Dallas, TX 75252 on the first Saturday of every month, @9:00 a.m. We look forward to you joining us for this social event. Bring the Caddy, or just head out in your daily grocery –getter and break bread with us. Our first breakfast is December 1, 2018. (Note that Cars & Coffee at Classic BMW has it’s last gathering on this date also.)
Also, look at page 9 and 10 for the Christmas Party Registration. This year is January 6, 2019.

1948 6207 Cadillac Coupe ( Series 62 “Fastback” ). The car is in good condition and well maintained. The car belonged to the late North Texas member Jess Shyrack, and it would be a plus to “keep it in the family.” The’48 has been designated as a Milestone Car as this model was the last to have the Flat Head V-8 motor and the first to have fender fins. This is a beautiful 19397 Series 7519 Cadillac as seen at the Leake Auction in November (many NTXCLC members attended). Now
look closely. There is a “FIN” on the tail of this pre-war limo. His-tory books declare that it was Frank Hershey, chief of the GM Spe-cial Car Design Studio that was designing the 1948 Cadillac. After
seeing an early production model of a Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter at Selfridge air base he thought the twin rudders of the air-plane would make a sleek design addition to the rear of future mod-
ern automobiles.
I say, “Not true.” And this photo of the ‘39 proves the fin started a tad earlier.

There are 16 car clubs that manage the Pate Swap Meet each year. If every member of the North Texas Region Cadillac & LaSalle club recruited just one new member each, we would be the biggest club in the swap meet. Remember, the member count, besides meaning a more fun and interesting club, gets the club a bigger share of the Pate income. If a member obtains 5 or more new members to the NTXCLC they will receive a free Club Shirt at the annual Christmas dinner.
