Opening Prayer

Loving God,We thank you for all your gifts to us: for making us, for loving us,for calling us to be Your people.

At this time,

We give You thanks for all the good things You have done for us.

We thank You for all who share in the work of our schools,

And we ask You to guide us and let Your light lead us.

Amen

Loving God,

You have trusted us with the care of your little ones,

Let your trust shine, let it shine

You have given us the capacity for knowledge and wisdom

Let your truth shine, let it shine

Your love for us dances through the heavens,

Let your love shine, Let it shine.

A Reading from the Gospel according to Matthew:

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket,but on the lamp stand,and it gives light to allwho are in the house. /

Let your light shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your God who is in heaven.

This is the Gospel of the Lord.
