When do we use adjectives?

We use adjectives to describe the noun.

Adjectives add information about the noun.

For example:

The bag is beautiful.

Shrek is green.

Sometimes we want to compare between people, or between animals or any other objects (cars, shoes ,buildings etc.) and

then we also use the adjectives.

For example: The tallest man in the world.

some rules for using comparison of adjectives…1. When we compare between two

people/things that are the same :

Dana is as tall as Ronit.

The spider is as big as a plate.

The rule:

The noun+ as +adjective+ as + the other noun.

The baby boy is as cute as his baby sister.

2. When we compare between two nouns that are not the same, one is more than the other- we use comparative adjectives.

Spelling rules

1. When the adjective has one syllable we add to it the ending er tall taller

2. When the adjective has one syllable and it ends in consonant- vowel- consonant (CVC) we double the last consonant when adding er:
