The menu lived up to expectations and our hosts Ron and Sue Alexander, Brian and Marlene Poole made very one very welcome. Sue did an outstanding job as a tour guide for those that wished to see their apartment in the St Ives complex in Carine. The amenities are second to none which includes not only the restaurant and café, an indoor heated pool, gymnasium and on-site hairdressing salon and lots of other amenities. Each guest received a nice St Ives carry bag containing information on St Ives apartment living. Bag will certainly be come in handy when out shopping The evening was a great success thanks to our hosts Ron, Sue, Brian, Marlene and Ascot’s Club Director Ros McLernon. LATEST NEWS AND INFORMATION:

INTERPLAST NEWS

As I reflect on the past financial year, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of Interplast’s incredible supporters. You have helped expand our impact across the Asia Pacific region. Through your generosity, you have played a role in enabling Interplast to deliver 86 programs in 17 countries in the previous financial year. While numbers paint one picture, the reach is far more significant than data alone can show. Surgery and post-operative care have enabled people to regain function. Rehabilitation has enabled young people to return to school and parents to find work and support their families. Local medical professionals have learned new skills, helping them to provide improved medical services to their people. Our supporters have touched the lives of thousands of men, women and children over the years. On behalf of our patients and local partner communities, thank you for your generosity. Prue Ingram

ShelterBox Training:

Hello District 9465 International Directors, Could you please pass this on to the members of your Rotary Club? This great opportunity to spend a weekend learning more about ShelterBox with like minded people and to hear about ShelterBox and the great work ShelterBox does helping people who have lost everything in natural and some conflict disasters around the world. CEO Mike Greenslade, will be leading the weekend, he is a very experienced ShelterBox Response Team (SRT) member who has been deployed to over 20 countries and has previously organised similar ShelterBox information and training weekends in Brisbane and other venues. We have already had a great response so please contact Kieryn to book your place. We will have to cap the numbers so do not miss out! As mentioned these events have previously been held in Brisbane and other eastern state venues and I have been trying to get this to Western Australia for some time. Hence my delight that it is up and running in Perth 17-19 August 2018. Please book with Kieryn Deutrom: [email protected] Many thanks June ShelterBox D 9465 Area Coordinator and District 9465 Chair Immediate Past President June Wade PHF Rotary Club South Perth-Burswood 0427 178 793 IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR DISTRICT GOVERNOR Dear Fellow Rotarians, The following message was received this evening from PDG Gina Growden, Rotary Public Image Coordinator 2018-19, Rotary International Zone 8 (Australia) of an initiative that has been set up to support our farmers fight the battle against the drought.
