Bible Study Theme: Name Me Once you are done with choosing your bear, stuffing your bear and dressing your bear, you get to name your bear. In the same way God knew us before we were born and gave us a name too. The bible says our name is written in the palm of Gods hand. When we purchase our bear without naming it and scanning it no one will know who it belongs to went it is lost. The same way when we decide to follow Jesus and make Him our forever friend we belong to Him and will never be lost. Isaiah 49:16 “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.” Why did Jesus need to be baptized? Jesus is fulfilling his role as the obedient Son of God by practicing the required righteousness of submitting to God’s will. Every also witnessed how the spirit of God came down on Jesus to set an example of how important baptism is for us. Galatians 3:27 “All those who have been baptized into Christ have clothed themselves with Christ.” Bible Story: Jesus set an example by being baptized. Matthew 3:13–17; Mark 1:9–11; John 1:29–34 Main Point: We choose to follow Jesus because He loved us first. He has our name written on the palm of His hand. Prayer: Dear God, thank you that You made us and loved us first. Help us to follow Jesus’ example to be obedient sons and daughters of Your Will. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
