Call to Worship O God of every nation, tribe, and land. We see your mighty acts through history and in the present. God who causes the seas to roll and thunder clouds form, Move in us this day as your people to change hearts and lives for you.

Prayer of the Day The Lord be with you. And also with you. Let us pray: Wherever we are, you meet us, O God. In our brave and fragile moments,

you are there. Knit us together as your Church that the world may see as a sign in us

your reconciling love for all. May they know You because they see You at work in us.

Almighty God, why can’t we resist the powers of seduction, success, and superiority on our own? Why do we fall prey to the god of self-indulgence? Why can’t we resist the lure of more for the sake of more when enough is the good blessing you offer? (A time for silent prayer)

God of grace and God of glory, curb our desires to be more in line with what you would have us be and do. Shape our taste that we would enjoy Your banquet more than food which does not satisfy. AMEN.
