WE COME TO LIFE IN COLOR! It is color that reunites us, revives us, makes us breathe.
It is color that we crave.
Welcome to Color Marketing Group’s 2018 International Summit, where we will reunite with our colorful tribe in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. As the first inter-national President of CMG, I have escaped with a little bit of European culture and brought it to the Summit. For this Summit, we want to convey a feeling of coming home; a connection to your color tribe where you feel at ease and where you may recharge your batteries with inspiration. For this very reason, we decided to work with a concept that has flooded the international market due to its immense popularity. A concept that fulfills a primal need within all of us, that feeling of togetherness - HYGGE.
Hygge: a Danish word meaning “a form of everyday togetherness”; “a pleasant and highly-valued everyday experience of safety, equality, personal wholeness and a spontaneous social flow”. In short, a celebration of daily pleasures. Hygge describes how we all feel as CMG’ers when we finally gather as a color tribe during the year: feelings of belonging, spending time with your color loved ones, catching up with an old color friend, or just the overall togetherness that gives us a warm feeling.
CMG, however, is much more than a new way of living.
WE DARE IN COLOR at Future Thinking.
WE REVIVE IN COLOR during Color Power.
WE CREATE IN COLOR during Color Applications.
And after a long working day, WE EXPRESS IN COLOR during our Cocktail Hour.
I wish you a hyggelig 2018 International Summit!

DR. BEAU LOTTOProfessor of Neuroscience, Founder and CEO of Lab of Misfits
Perception is The Foundation of Human Experience
Dr. Beau Lotto is a professor of neuroscience who specializes in the biology and psychology of perception, which is at the core of complexity, well-being and innovation. His work – which has been published in two books, and over 60 papers and reviews in international journals – blurs the boundaries between neurosci-ence, design, and the arts. The aim of this work is to offer a deeper understanding of what it is to be alive.Dr. Beau Lotto is the Founder and CEO of Lab of Misfits, the world’s first neuro-design studio and public perception research space. The Lab of Misfits turns the world into a lab as a way of enabling insights for companies and organizations. The lab creates unique real-world ‘experiential-experiments’ that places the public at the center of the process of discovery. By spanning social and personal boundaries between people, brands and institutions, our aim is to create, expand and apply insights into what it is to be a perceiving human. The Lab of Misfits gives audiences and clients the opportunity to see differently … more than this … to embody an ecology of innovation. By revealing the startling truths about the brain and its perceptions, we show that the next big innovation is not a new technology: it is a new way of seeing. Let us help show you how uncertainty and the brain’s need to resolve it, is essential for think-ing about not only branding and business, but specifically design, leadership and innovation.”
“Perception underpins everything that we feel, think and believe. It is the source of all artistic expression and scientific exploration. What we perceive IS who we are. Perception is the foundation of human experience, but few of us understand why we see what we do, much less how."

TOM PALMAERTSTrend Watcher, Future ForecasterPartner at TrendwolvesWorldwide Keynote Speaker & Trend Consultant
“These creatives, entrepreneurs, and vibrant youth are creating thrilling waves. Most of these thrills stay underground – at the edge of society – but some of them cause disruptions and will influence your business.” Tom Palmaerts, Trendwatcher of the Year 2013/2014
Tom Palmaerts is a trend watcher, future forecaster, and partner at Trendwolves, a trend, and a marketing agency with a focus on young consumers. He is a worldwide keynote speaker and trend consultant. Tom works for brands like Callebaut, Clariant, Coca-Cola, HP, Palm, PwC, Sony Music, Hello Bank, and BNP Paribas Fortis.
In 2008 Tom Palmaerts was awarded “Youth trend specialist of the year” by the Dutch trend-watching platform Second Sight, as a result of his drive, originality & passion. Since 2012 he teaches ‘scenario thinking’ and ‘trend watching’ at the University College Ghent.
In September 2013 Tom Palmaerts received the award Trendwatcher of The Year. The jury explained: “He is activating and can bring things in motion.” In 2015 he published a book ‘Futures’ (Lannoo – Dutch) together with Herman Konings and Joeri Van den Bergh.
"Thanks to my job I can travel a lot and meet talented creatives, rebels, and entrepreneurs. During my travels, most of the time, I only see the walls of hotel lobbies, conference halls, and companies. But my clients are very open to me. I get to know all their innovations, dreams, and frustrations. This way I can see the future unfolding, and also the differences on a cultural level.
I teach students and employees how to see the future. But to be honest, I can explain methods, but that’s doesn’t mean someone can grasp future opportunities. It’s a weird combination of methodology, an analytical mindset, dedication, numbers, and a lot of good, old intuition.
Today youngsters are action-focused, realistic, ambitious, and individualistic. But they have the belief that you need others to get it done. The short atten-tion, greatly networked, and entrepreneurial mindset of this new generation is an answer to the fast changing world that we live in."
