Greetings to all our readers! We are proud to present the second issue of LIBYTES. Thanks to all our news contributors whose inputs are essential to this e-newsletter‘s success. We

were overwhelmed with the fl ood of congratulatory messages from our esteemed readers and stakeholders who enjoyed our maiden edition last month.

In this month’s edition we continue to share more news of events shaping up on campus and exciting announcements of programmes in the pipeline. Members of the Jesuit family all over the world celebrated the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola – the Founder of the Society of Jesus, on 31st July. Every LIBAite also took part in the celebrations making it a joyous and memorable day.

Friendship day was also celebrated on 5th August. Students of the Espire and 360 Degree clubs conducted the ‘Break Free’ Carnival event on the LIBA campus with great fanfare. Food stalls fi lled with delicious dishes drew crowds of student and faculty patrons who enjoyed the various tasty treats spread out before them.

Our BMI and Student Clubs sections feature activities that have taken place since the last newsletter. We also feature new events in the Departments section and a new Alumni CSR section has been included to feature the CSR activities that are being organized by LIBA Alumni Association. It is our constant endeavour to make available to our readers, news and information that is current, interesting and that adds value. If you have any queries insights/suggestions regarding the kind of information you may like to receive from us via this medium, please contact the editorial team. We count on your active support and involvement in all that we do.

Wish you our esteemed reader and stakeholder the very best.

The traditional ways of welcoming juniors has changed. Instead of bonding at college and canteen over samosas and songs, seniors have found exciting ways to bond with the Freshers.

Hipp ie , a countercu l tu re youth movement, characterized the theme of the fresher’s party to welcome the new students of 2018 batch. Organized by the 360 degrees club of LIBA the event saw students turning up in large numbers with boys and girls dressed up as hippies. The Freshers party at LIBA has become one of the most enjoyable events for both seniors and freshers.

The Fresher’s Party hosted at LIBA was a Dynamic Affair

Break Free, the much awaited two-day event conducted by the entrepreneurship club 'ESPIRE' and the student affairs committee '360 degree', lived up to expectations as it enthralled the participants and organizers alike. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students venturing into entrepreneurship. Academic and non-academic clubs, as well as other student groups, joined the event as they put up stalls with delicious food and exciting games. While the visitors had their plates full of food and fun, it was an intense learning curve for the students who ran the stalls.

We caught up with some of the stall owners to learn more about their experiences. "I have learned a lot about the pricing and the quality customers expect", "managing the inventory and delegating the work were two of my biggest challenges", were some of the opinions expressed by the students. Apart from the students of LIBA, visitors from Loyola College also lauded the efforts of the hosts for showcasing food and culture of various states.
