Havering Adult College are thrilled to be launching a revitalised range of Language Learning Experiences with the renowned Europa Centre in the heart of Upminster. Aimed at schools themselves, as well as local pupils from Primary and Secondary education, the vibrant and unique atmosphere at UK’s only European Learning Village has to be experienced to be believed!

Over 100 schools from around the country regularly take advantage of the diverse and immersive Language Learning Experiences (LLE), which can be tailored to suit any school’s specific age range, and language needs. Several LLE Packages are available, all including the opportunity to access not only the magical learning village environment, but also to make use of the experienced and gifted Language Assistants who will be your learning guides for the duration of your stay!

Whether your school party want to take part in a missing person investigation, or a treasure hunt, or whether they want to create and record their own radio broadcasts, the Havering Adult College Language Learning Experience at the Europa Centre is the ideal place to come, to learn and to stretch your language skills. Packages are available in French, Spanish, Italian and German.

Havering Adult College are also delighted to be extending their hugely popular Language Learning classes to include school-ages. With late afternoon classes running termly and starting in September, your children can be learning alongside their school day, and making leaps and bounds. With the value of having a second, or even a third language, under your belt never more important in the world’s job market these days, you can give your children a head start in life. With classes targeted at ages upto, and including, GCSE support, this is a perfect opportunity to select an after-school activity with added value. Young Language Learning Courses

Havering Adult College is delighted to offer a range of language-learning classes for children, delivered in association with the famous Europa Centre based in Upminster. The Centre is designed to reflect a traditional European village. With these classes it has never been more possible for children to get a head start in foreign language learning. Many colleges and businesses recognise the need to improve language skills at an early age to improve life chances – and now, with these courses, children can be supported to do just that.

Pay for your child’s course in 10 monthly instalments and receive the course at the reduced block booking price. You will benefit from the discounted sibling fee if you have a second child enrol onto our classes.

Language School Visits

At the Europa Centre, you and your pupils will benefit from enhanced visits, 2 hours for Primary (10:00 to 12:00 & 12:30 to 14:30) and 3 hours for Secondary (9:00 to 12:00 & 12:15 to 15:15) which will provide your students with a real immersive language experience from the start.

Each visit is for a maximum of 30 students and the lunch break is included in the timeslot during the café activity. French visits take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, Spanish visits on Wednesdays and German visits on Thursdays. Our packages comprise an ‘Arrival Lounge’ session during which we will prepare your students for the visit. The main part of the visit will include the popular activities like role-plays in shops, theft or missing person plus added activities. There will also be a plenary ‘Departure Lounge’ session in which students will be able to reflect on their experience.

We offer a 10% discount on the total of the visits if you book for 3 or more visits. Should you wish to bring the same group for another visit we will provide them with different activities and booklets, or you can ask us about our bespoke visit packages. Radio Broadcast visits are stand-alone visits at £ 400 for 2h30 (10:00 to 12:30 & 12:30 to 15:00).

As mentioned above, we can also organise a bespoke visit to cater for your specific needs, please do call us to discuss your requirements. Our visits provide a real opportunity for students to use their language skills with native speakers.
