You will find no specific mention in Scripture of a mid-week assembly of Christ's disciples, though of course a Wednesday gathering surely was one of the “day by day” meetings mentioned in Acts 5:42. A Wednesday assembly, unlike a Lord's Day (Sunday) assembly, is not an apostolic tradition. The modern tradition of assembling on Wednesdays seems to have originated in the late 1720's as one of the “methods” to promote Christian spirituality among a group of students at Oxford University in England led by two brothers, John and Charles Wesley. Followers of the Wesley “methods” in time came to be called “Methodists.” Unless we want to have to go through the process of making new decisions each week in regard to when and where we will assemble or what time and how long we will meet as Christians, we will follow traditions. But we should always be flexible when it comes to such traditions. For instance, in recent years we have begun a tradition of having a prayer meeting, instead of Bible study, on the final Wednesday of each month (though it could be argued that in doing this we were reclaiming an older tradition of midweek prayer meetings). After hearing guest speakers on Wednesdays for most of the summer, this week we resume the tradition of having Bible classes. I encourage you to take part in this good tradition.
