“THE WESTMINSTER CHIMES” (Please use this time to prepare for worship.)
GATHERING TOGETHER
PRELUDE Prelude in C Major by J. S. Bach Natalie Hayden, Piano
CALL TO WORSHIP Based on Psalm Psalm 36:5–7 Suzanne Lundstrom
Leader: Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. People: Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains; your justice flows like the
deep waters. Leader: How precious is your steadfast love, O LORD! People: The people of the earth find shelter under the shadow of your wings.
* GATHERING SONG Our God, Our Help in Ages Past #210
* CONFESSING OUR FAITH The Apostles’ Creed (Traditional) p.14 * CONFESSION OF SIN & ASSURANCE OF PARDON Suzanne Lundstrom Based on “The Love of Jesus” in The Valley of Vision
Precious Lord, help us to approach you with deepest reverence, not with presumption or baseless fear, but with holy affection. While you are beyond the limits of our understanding, you are not beyond the longing of our hearts. Melt our frosty hearts in the warmth of your love. Illumine our dark minds with the glow of your light. Quicken our weak bodies by the enabling of your Spirit. Therefore, trusting not in ourselves, but in Christ alone, we confess our sins to you. . . .(silent confession)
* GREETING ONE ANOTHER Leader: May the peace of Christ be with you. All: And also with you.
SONG OF RESPONSE I Love You, Lord
I love you, Lord, and I lift my voice To worship you, O my soul rejoice. Take joy, my King, in what you hear, May it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear.
