GATHERING TOGETHER
PRELUDE CALL TO WORSHIP based on Deuteronomy 30:19–20 Betty Muse
Leader: God has set before us life and death. People: We long to choose life. Leader: God has set before us blessings and curses. People: We long to choose blessings. Leader: Let us love the LORD our God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. People: For the LORD Almighty is our life.
* GATHERING SONG Love Divine, All Loves Excelling #376 * CONFESSION OF SIN & ASSURANCE OF PARDON Betty Muse
Eternal God, you have loved us with an everlasting love. God our Father, you have promised not to cast us off forever. Even as we wander from and rebel against you, your love never fails and your promise endures forever. Graciously, you sent your Son to suffer in our place, and to defeat sin and death and the devil. Lord Jesus, you are our trust and our hope and our life. Knowing that you are beyond faithful, hear us and heal us as we confess our sins to you . . . (silent confession).
* GREETING ONE ANOTHER Leader: May the peace of Christ be with you. All: And also with you. * SONG OF RESPONSE Grace Greater Than Our Sin (chorus)
Grace, grace, God’s grace. Grace that will pardon and cleanse within. Grace, grace, God’s grace. Grace that is greater than all our sin!
