    IPSF Development Fund 2016

    1st round of Event Grants IPSF World Congress 2016: Call for Applications

    The Development Fund Committee of the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) isdelighted to announce the timetable for applications regarding the 1st round of Development FundEvent Grants for 2016.

    There are five main events coordinated by IPSF in 2016, namely the World Congress and four regional

    symposia, with each attracting hundreds of pharmacy students from all corners of the World to attend.

    The programme of these events consists of educational lectures, workshops, official federation meetingsand social events. This round of event grants is solely for those attending the IPSF World

    Congress. A second call for event grants will be made at a later date for those attending regional

    symposia.

    The accompanying information should be read in conjunction with the official application form and thecommittee will consider only properly submitted applications. The last date for receipt of applicationswill bethe10thof March 2016 11:59pm GMT+0.

    Aim

    The aim of this IPSF Development Fund Event Grant is to promote the objectives of the Federation by

    making it possible for students and young pharmacists to attend IPSF events regardless of their financialcircumstances.

    Events

    Applications are invited from pharmacy students in order to attend:

    1. The 62ndIPSF World Congress, Harare, Zimbabwe, 29thJuly 8thAugust 2016

    Grant coverage and criteria

    The awarded grant will cover only part of the expenses: it will coverthe World Congress registrationfee unless otherwise specified, or upon other request. For the 1stround of event grants, if theWorld Congress registration fee is awarded, IPSF will pay the registration fee on behalf of thesuccessful applicants during the registration period. For other circumstances upon request, the

    grant will be paid by bank transfer after participation in the event and submission of the requireddocuments. In special cases the grant may also be paid to the recipient at the event by cash.

    Priority will be given to:

    i. Applicants from low and lower middle income countries (as defined by the World Bank) or

    from developing countries (as defined by the United Nations);ii. Those who have served IPSF as a Contact Person, Student Exchange Officer, subcommittee

    member or in some other way contributed to IPSF Projects;

    iii. Students in their last year of study

    iv. Those who will be attending an IPSF event for the first time and/or are the only representativesfrom their countries.

    Special attention will be given to expenses of the trip and how reasonable they are, motivation letter andif other sponsors were approached.

    Representatives of organisations who will apply for IPSF membership at the World Congress may alsoapply for this grant.

    For pharmacy students who are not eligible to register during phase 1of World Congress

    registration but intend to register in phase 2 or phase 3of the registration period, you are also

    required to apply for the grant by the samedeadline, the 10thof March 2016 11:59pm GMT+0, which

    will be prior to your world congress registration. If your grant application is successful, you will be

    granted the event grant when you register.

    Decision

    All applications will be considered by the Development Fund Committee and successful applicants willbe notified by the committee before the 25thofMarch 2016.

    Process of the applications

    For World Congress Phase 1 registration applicants, please ensure you select the option ofapplying for an IPSF World Congress Event Grant in the World Congress registration form andsend

    an email with the titleWC2016 DF Confirmatio n

    to inform both theDevelopmentFund Coordinator ([email protected]) and the World Congress reception committee

    ([email protected]) within 7 days after your registration to hold your registration fee payment. Ifyou fail to complete eitherof the above procedures, your grant application will be regarded as

    incomplete and will be not reviewed.

    For World Congress Phase 2 or 3 registration applicants, please ensure you have submitted your

    grant applications in time. Further procedures will be required if your application is successful.

    Submission of applications

    Applications should follow the guidelines contained within the official application and applications shouldbe submitted on the official form.

    Applicants must send an electronic version of the application form with the title of email as

    WC2016 DF Application Form - Name toDevelopment Fund Coordinator ([email protected]) by thedeadline, the 10thof March 2016 11:59pm GMT+0.
