WBI Creator User Guide
Introduction WBICreator is a small application intended to create windows bootable disk from windows
setup files. It is formally known as Windows Bootable ISO Creator.
Its purpose is to help in creating custom windows setup disk or windows setup disk with all updates integrated.
For example: Many times when there is a service pack release of windows and we
want to create our own up-to-date windows setup disk by integrating the service pack into
the windows setup files. But after service pack integration if we simply burn the windows
setup files onto a CD/DVD and then try to boot the computer with this disk then the system
will not boot because the setup disk is not bootable!
Here the WBICreator comes into action. If we create the windows setup disk with
WBICreator then it is guaranteed that the resulting ISO/CD/DVD will be bootable and you
will be able to install windows without any CD/DVD boot problem.

Installing WBI Creator WBICreator is programmed as a portable application, so there is no need to do any specific
install. Just simply copy it to any folder on your computer and double click on the
WBICreator.exe to launch the application.

Uninstalling WBI Creator WBICreator is a portable application so it doesn’t need any specific uninstall. To uninstall
just simply delete WBICreator.exe and you are done!

Creating Image To create an ISO IMAGE with WBICreator:
o Launch WBICreator.exe
o Click Next on welcome screen
o Check Create Image checkbox
o Fill ISO IMAGE options
Options:
Choose windows version for which you want to create bootable ISO image. For
windows versions not listed in the dropdown list choose an equivalent windows
version.
For example: For windows 2000 we can choose windows xp in the dropdown
list. It is only required to get necessary setup folder structure of the target os.
In essence all windows os which contains i386 folder in their setup files will go
with windows xp while windows vista or higher containing similar windows
setup files structure will go with windows vista, windows 7 or windows 8 etc.
Enter an ISO label for the output ISO IMAGE. This label is displayed in windows

explorer as CD/DVD Drive label when the ISO IMAGE is mounted with any CD/DVD
image mounting software such as ISO Toolkit or WinCDEmu etc. or it is burned on a
CD/DVD disk with a disk image burning software such as ISO Toolkit or Nero etc.

Select OS Setup files folder, i.e. the folder which contains the installation files of the
selected windows edition in the dropdown list. For windows xp this should be the
folder containing i386 folder and for windows vista or higher this should be the folder
containing sources or sources64 folder etc. Don’t confuse with the installed windows
folder generally found in C:\ drive. This folder is not valid for OS Setup Files.

Select Output path folder, i.e. the folder where the created ISO image will be saved.
This would be any normal folder on your computer where you can read and write.
After setting all required option click Go to start process.

Burning Image To Burn an ISO image with WBICreator:
o Launch WBICreator.exe
o Click Next on welcome screen
o Check Burn Image checkbox
o Fill BURN IMAGE options as required
Options:
There are two options in BURN IMAGE settings:
1. An ISO IMAGE to burn.
2. The CD/DVD Burner drive.
The 1st option is not available if you have selected create image checkbox because the
created ISO will be automatically selected in this case as shown by the text “[Created-
Image]” in the relevant field. Otherwise you can choose a custom ISO image to burn.

The 2nd option CD/DVD burner allows you to choose the drive letter for your optical disk
burner drive. All CD/DVD drive available on your system will be automatically listed here.
After setting all required option click Go to start process.

Software Update WBI Creator automatically checks for new available version on each day on first launch. So
whenever a new version will be available it will be automatically notified to you by the
program and the same will be offered to download from update server.
