WAYS TO SAVE ON YOUR WATER BILL LADWP customers have many ways to save water and money. Here are some tips and programs that can help you manage your water usage and costs while Saving the Drop! Indoor Water Savings Install water-saving (low flow) showerheads and faucet aerators. Low-flow showerheads save as much as 20 gallons for a 10-minute shower. LADWP customers can get free showerheads and aerators at their local LADWP Customer Service Center. Shut off the faucet while brushing your teeth, shaving or doing dishes. Save up to 3 gallons/day. Fix or replace leaky faucets, pipes, and plumbing joints. Save 20 gallons/day for every leak you stop. Run only full loads when using the dishwasher or washing machine. Don’t use your toilet as an ashtray or wastebasket. Install a high efficiency clothes washer and save 16 gallons/load. Install a high efficiency toilet and save 21 gallons/day. Outdoor Water Savings Check your sprinklers for proper operation and leaks. Make sure that you are watering your lawn and not the sidewalk or street. Water your lawn only when needed. Remember, outdoor watering is prohibited when it’s raining. While outdoor watering with sprinklers is limited to three days a week, consider cutting down to two days/week. Here are the current citywide guidelines: { Odd-numbered addresses may water on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. { Even-numbered addresses may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Ahorros de Agua dentro del Hogar• Instale cabezales de ducha de bajo flujo y aereadores de grifos.

Los cabezales de ducha de bajo flujo ahorran hasta 20 galones durante una ducha de 10 minutos. Clientes de LADWP pueden adquirirlos, gratuitamente, en su Centro de Servicio al Cliente local.

• Repare o reemplace grifos y tuberías con goteras. Ahorre 20 galones al día por cada gotera que repara.

• No utilice su inodoro como un cenicero o tacho de basura.

• Instale una lavadora de ropa de alta eficiencia y ahorre 16 galones por cada carga.

Ahorros de Agua al Aire Libre• Revise sus aspersores para asegurar su funcionamiento y

detectar goteras. Asegure que usted este regando su césped y no la acera o calle.

• Riegue su césped solo cuando sea necesario. Recuerde que es prohibido regar durante lluvia.

• Aunque el regar con aspersores está limitado a tres días por semana, considere reducir a dos días por semana. A seguir le presentamos las reglas actuales para la ciudad:
