Yes there are refurbishment works in both terminals and garages. New plans are available together with this RFI. Information on external landscaping is not available at this time.

Apesar de haver uma definição de sinalização no Terminal, este não deve ser o padrão a ser seguido. A ideia é desenvolver um conceito/padrão completamente novo de sinalização. Existing Signage standand of T1 shall not be the base to develop the new signs. Our goal is to completely revamp our signage system.

A sinalização viária deverá ser iniciada no viaduto de entrada a partir da linha vermelha, prosseguindo pela Av. 20 de janeiro até o final e englobando as vias de acesso aos níveis de embarque e desembarque dos terminais e estacionamentos. Roadway signage should start at the overpass at the end of “linha vermelha”, all the way through Av. 20 de Janeiro until the end of the avenue to the arrival/departure terminals including parking areas.

For “design, functional, characteristics and aesthetics”, you should showcase in the proposal your ability to address these requirements. If you have already developed projects which can be showcased, all the better.

Mijksenaar Point 4.a.iii: how many other airports do you want to be taken into account here?

Please provide as many relevant references as you wish, considering it is relevant to this Project. We would suggest a minimum of three (3) similar projects. This is for benchmarking latest trends and Technologies.

Mijksenaar Point 4.b.vii: what is meant by design of custom signage application for major entry points? And what do you mean by asset tracking? Can you explain how design is involved in this?

Major entry points refer to the primary entrances into terminal buildings (e.g. from kerbside into departure/arrival halls), entrances into restricted international and domestic areas, etc. Asset tracking refers to the asset reference system where all signage at all locations have individual reference identifiers for proper record keeping and ease of reference when ever future changes are required.

Mijksenaar Point 4.b.ix: which other language would you like to include? Do you want two or three language signs?

At a minimum we are looking for Portuguese and English, but looking to include Spanish as well. We would like to discuss with shortlisted firms the impact of the third language in terms of cost and design.

We are referring to the installation of commercial signs, and other structures that might interfere with the visibility of the wayfinding signs

Mijksenaar Point 11.e: functional design details and shop drawings would be part of Mijksenaar's work. Technical detailing and engineering is done by the manufacturer. This can be checked/evaluated. Is that ok for you?

This is ok.

Mijksenaar Point 11.f: This is rather open. We shall limit this in order to prevent too much cost for traveling etc.

We can discuss this further in the process, but these queries could be responded by email, phone, conf call or others – there isn’t a requirement to answer them in person.

Mijksenaar Point 11.g: shop drawings are done by Mijksenaar. Or do you prefer to outsource that to the manufacurer?

This would be acceptable, however we would still require close coordination with the fabrication and installation work.
