PASTORAL
A Message from Fr. Conley... We are 8 weeks into our reopening and celebration of Public Masses at Saint Patrick and just began our reopening of Sacred Heart last weekend. Here are some photos of the set up at Saint Patrick’s which is also the set up going forward, for the Sacred Heart 7:30am Mass as well.
As you can see, the blue crosses in the pews mark where individual folks can sit while maintaining social distance. Folks are seated in every other pew throughout the Church. A family from the same household is allowed to be seated in the same pew together and arrows on the floor indicate which direction folks should walk in when exiting and entering the Church.
Things are operating smoothly and we have had no issues thanks be to God. Our reopening committees are working hard each weekend to make the Churches safe and prayerful spaces for all.
Though the Cardinal’s dispensation from attending in person public Masses is still in effect, we hope those who haven’t yet had a chance to return ‘in the flesh’ and are able to do so safely, will prayerfully consider it in the weeks and months to come as you prepare to meet your new pastoral leadership team of Bishop Reed and Fr. Kearney who will begin on September 1.
The sign- up genius pre-registration for Masses is still required each week. See our Facebook page starting on Mondays for the link and be on the lookout for an email of the link to sign up as well. If you are unable to sign up online, you may call the office to sign up. All registrations must be done by 10am each Friday.
Blessings all,
Fr. Conley

WATERTOWN CATHOLIC COLLABORATIVE, 18TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
The following directives were carefully prepared by the Church reopening committee.
If you are feeling ill or sick in any way, we implore you not to come to Mass. This is important for everyone’s safety!
Dispensation: Dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass remains in effect. Mass will be posted online each weekend.
Arriving at the Church
A face covering or mask MUST be worn at all times in the Church unless you are a child under age two, a child between ages two and five where we leave it to the parent’s discretion, or you have a health issue that makes it overly burdensome for you to wear a mask.
Please arrive 30 minutes before the Mass begins. Entrance will be from the front of the Church only: Handicapped accessibility is by handicapped ramp in front of Sacred Heart and from elevator at front entrance at St. Patrick. No other entrances will be open.
When you arrive, volunteers will be at the center doors signing each attendee in by name. There will also be hand sanitizer at the entrance that we ask everyone to use before entering the Church. Please bring your own personal hand sanitizer as well if you have it.
There will be arrows on the floors directing one-way traffic flow, blue tape markers identifying available pews and volunteers assisting people to available pews.
Holy Communion
Fr. Conley will explain the process for receiving Holy Communion at each Mass.
Departing the Church: Fr. Conley will give instructions at the end of each Mass on the dismissal protocol that will be followed. Restrooms: Restrooms are available in the Church hall if needed. Children MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please follow all social distancing protocols and the signs. Final Note Regarding Reopening Directives:
This entire process is foreign to all of us, and of course is not ideal. There will be some learning curves as well. Please be kind and patient. Following all the requirements and guidelines will allow for a smooth reopening process and will show that we are a united community taking everyone’s safety seriously.
WATERTOWN CATHOLIC COLLABORATIVE: CHURCH REOPENING DIRECTIVES
Please Note:
All Church Clergy, Staff & Volunteers must have their temperature taken on site upon entering the Church.
NEW Sign Up Procedure
All who plan to attend Mass in Watertown MUST sign up prior to showing up at the Church. No exceptions will be made at the door. An e-mail blast will be sent out to all registered parishioners on MONDAY using a program called Sign Up Genius. The preferred method to sign up is through this online platform. However, if you are unable to access e-mail, you can call the office during normal business hours each week to sign up for mass for that weekend ONLY. Sign up each week closes on Friday at 10:00am in order to allow staff time to prepare lists for the weekend. Each sign-up must be an individual person per slot.
When the deadline to sign up passes, or we reach capacity, you will have to go to a different Mass, or try again the following week. Maximum safely allowed per Mass is 100 at St. Patrick Church and 80 at Sacred Heart Church.

SAINT VINCENT DEPAUL Society In the Gospel, Jesus says: “There is no need
for them to go away; give them some food yourselves,” and taking the five loaves and two
fish, he blest them and gave them to the disciples to feed the crowd.
Know that your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul to help those living in poverty touches many lives just like the
loaves and fishes.

Your prayers are requested for PPeter Manning, Jr., and RRose L. Ford and for their family and friends who mourn. May all our departed rest in the peace of the Lord.
SACRIFICIAL GIVING Sacred Heart Parish & Saint Patrick Parish
Saint Patrick Parish has had secure online giving since 2013, with over 100 parishioners giving regularly. At this time we encourage BOTH parishes to use this site for easily making their donations. Sacred Heart parishioners can enter a note online (special intention) that they want donations to go to Sacred Heart and we have the capability of transferring that money to the proper parish account. The link to sign up for online giving is: www.osvonlinegiving.com/1470.
Collections may now be dropped in a basket immediately upon entering the church before Mass. Baskets will be conveniently located just inside both Churches.
Please continue to prayerfully consider how you can continue to offer your weekly financial support to our parishes.
Fr. Conley will offer Mass on Wednesday evenings at Saint Patrick Church immediately followed by the Sacrament of Confession and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
5:30pm (no reservation necessary)
Mass, Adoration, & Confession
This Week’s Psalm Reflection In today’s psalm, and all the readings, we see the theme of God feeding His people. The feeding of the thousands is an event that can be found in each Gospel. In all four accounts, Jesus is being followed by the crowd. Both Mark's and Matthew's narratives of this same event are directly preceded by an account of the death of Jesus' cousin, John the Baptist. If we were in Jesus' shoes at that moment in time, maybe we would be feeling shock, sadness, and worry about our own fu-tures. I know I would definitely need some downtime. Perhaps He was trying to get away and needed to have a quiet moment to Himself. I picture Jesus as tired, however Jesus does not
become irritable as I might when I am tired. He addresses the needs of those around Him. Today's psalm takeaway is twofold. The first phrase reminds us that while we may earn the paycheck to buy the food a farmer has grown and countless people have had a hand in getting to our grocery cart or dinner table, without the generous gifts of our Lord, none of it would be. Ultimately, it came from the hand of God. The second phrase encompasses everything beyond physical nourishment. He answers all our needs. We have a model for our own actions in a Messiah who continues to serve those around Him no matter what. We can trust in the Lord even in hard times. May our prayer be one of thanks for feeding us daily, for always taking care of us, and for strength to respond faithfully to those around us in times of our own pain and exhaustion.
The hand of the Lord feeds us; he answers all our needs. The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness. The LORD is good to all and compassionate toward all his works.
The eyes of all look hopefully to you, and you give them their food in due season; you open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
The LORD is just in all his ways and holy in all his works. The LORD is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.
