Owners required an aesthetically pleasing waterproof membrane to highlight unique roof shape as this was viewed from a second level. Originally the free form roof was to be built in metal however an alternative material and application was investigated due to the inherent complications. The complexity of flashings and gutters and irregular shape made it extremely difficult and impractical to use conventional waterproof membrane i.e sheet or torch-on products. Our latest residential project was to provide a waterproof
membrane for an architectural curved and irregular shaped
roof.
We needed to achieve
a high performing lightweight and
flexible waterproofing roof system.

The waterproof membrane had to
be easy, safe and quick to
install.
The membrane needed to have the ability to conform to the free form roof shape.
The complexity of the flashings & gutters made it extremely difficult and impractical to use conventional waterproofing membrane i.e sheet or torch on.
We used a spray-applied monolithic (seamless) waterproof membrane – Liquid Rubber.Liquid Rubber cures to a single, fully-bonded membrane with no joints or seams.
Orange tongue sheet flooring provided the roof substrate.
Liquid Rubber properties include extreme adhesion to almost any surface.
This “Instant Set” cold spray-applied system provides exceptional coverage – the project was instantly waterproofed in two days.
Liquid Rubber has 800 % elasticity and over 95% memory allowing for excessive roof movement.
Liquid Rubber has excellent U.V. resistance, resists ageing and cracking due to thermal cycling and provides strength, elasticity and adhesion.
