Note from Your President

HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF FUND

11/1/12

Dear UNICANS,

I'm writing to you today regarding the recent

hurricane that has devastated the east

coast. The areas that were hit hard in New

York and New Jersey are where many of our

members call home.

I have immediately initiated a hurricane

disaster relief fund to help out all that are in

this unfortunate time of need. Please make

donations payable to UNICO Foundation. You

can send a check directly to UNICO National

or visit http://www.unico.org/.

Let's pull together and show our UNITY and

NEIGHBORLINESS to help out our friends

and families of UNICO National.

Sincerely,

David M. Donnini

UNICO National President

*At the November Board Meeting, the

Waterbury Chapter Board of Directors

voted to send $150 to the National

Relief Fund.*

As started in last month’s

newsletter…..I am on to the

next UNICO letter:

N—Neighborliness: is defined

as “a disposition to be

friendly and helpful to

neighbors”. This is a key

element in our UNICO

mission because it shows

that we must care for and

reach out to others around

us. We have to work for the

good of others in our

Chapter, Community, District

and Nation.

One thing that always makes

my “heart feel proud” is the

level of commitment our

Chapter has in UNICO and

living the “Service Above

Self” motto. This is evident

in everything we

do……....from our Board

Meetings to Dinner Meetings

to Fundraisers and Special

Events. In addition, I love the

fact that our Chapter is like a

family. While we may argue

and not always disagree, we

are always there for each

other and work for the

common goal.

During this time of

Thanksgiving, I want to

remind you all to give thanks

for the

blessings in

your life.

Times may

be tough

and life may

not be going as you

want...but that doesn’t mean

you have to focus on the

negative. On a personal note,

this has been a rough year

for me, but during this

holiday season, I will take

the time to sit back and

reflect on all that is good in

my life.

Trust me….UNICO is one of

the good things. Open your

heart to UNICO, to your

neighbors and restore your

dedication to making a

difference.

Thank you for your time and

talents and I hope to see you

at our upcoming events.

Yours in UNICO!!

~Dr. Joanne D’Angelo
