R134a Refrigerant • Daikin’s single screw ZUW.C-B series uses the world most popular “Green” refrigerant, R134a. • R134a refrigerant has a Zero Ozone Depletion Potential• No chlorine in the chemical structure, hence reduce harmful chemical exposed to the atmosphere compared to the conventional refrigerant CFC. • Higher heat transfer efficiency compared to R123, hence, evaporator size can be reduced.• Lower toxicity compared to R123• No phase out time according to Montreal Protocol

Zero Clearance Fit• The meshed metal main screw and the non- metal

stars rotors reduced the tolerances and plate shape, results in optimized pressurized oil quantity and eliminates leakage. Hence, the air compression efficiency is improved and increases the overall efficiency of Daikin’s ZUW chiller.

Flooded Shell and Tube Evaporator

• Daikin’s ZUW.C-B chillers use a flooded design, shell-and-tube type evaporator. The flooded shell-and-tube evaporator means that the cold liquid refrigerant surrounds the tubes in the shell and cools down the water in the tubes.

• This design allows the refrigerant boils off in the shell and gas can be sucked out from the top of the evaporator back to the compressor. This reduces the suction superheat and increase the capacity performance of the compressor.

Low Maintenance Cost and Convenient Serviceability • Daikin’s ZUW.C-B chillers has a minimal moving

parts which means lesser replacement parts.

• Daikin’s ZUW.C-B chillers adopts a semi-hermetic design compressor which allows easy access to the main screw and gate rotors when the replacement of star bearings or star material if required.

• There are optional suction shut off valves available to provide easier isolation and field service of compressors.
