Information about rainfall in PolandThe Polish climate is marked by a large variability of the

weather within one year. The annual sum of rainfall in Poland is 500 mm - 1000 mm.

RIVERSThe biggest rivers in Poland are:

1. Vistula River (Wisła)-1047 m

Wisła is the biggest River in Poland. It rises at Barania

Góra in Silesia Beskids. It empties into the Baltic Sea.

MASURIAN LAKES DISTRICTLocated in the northern part of Poland, the Masurian Lake

district is also often called “ A land of a thousand lakes”. It has the biggest concentration of lakes in Poland, with

15% of area covered by water.

The region includes the largest lake in Poland called Śniardwy. The resort towns include the most popular Giżycko and Mikołajki, Węgorzewo, Ryn, Piszand Iława. Giżycko is located on the shore of Lake Niegocin.

Masurian Lake District is the area known for its pure, unspoilt nature. The Łuknajno Lake nature reserve (part of Masurian Landscape Park) is a protected wetland site under the Ramsar convention, as well as being designated by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve.

Elblag CanalIt is a navigable waterway in the province of Warmia and Mazury, running five ramps that allow you to quickly overcome the sections between the lakes and the difference in water level. There are channel, where ships, instead of flowing on water, glide through the grass. Outside the United States there is no the same around the world.

MiędzyzdrojeIn the first week of July we can meet Polish celebrities of film, theatre and television walking down the promenade of stars. The Promenade was founded in 1996, when the first Star Festival celebrities left their handprints in the pavement. It ismodeled on Hollywood Boulevard and Avenue of Stars in Cannes. It's the largest such festival this side of Baltic Sea.

The Hel PeninsulaThis is a 35-km-long peninsula in northern Poland separating the Bay of Puck from the open Baltic Sea. Hel is a popular tourist destination. Other towns, ports, and tourist resorts are Jurata, Jastarnia, Kuźnica, Chałupy, and Władysławowo. This is an important center for water recreation.

SKI JUMPINGParticipants must go the longest jump from the ski jump. We have many verygood ski jumpers for example Adam Małysz, Kamil Stoch, Piotr Żyła.

CROSS COUNTRY - SKIINGWe have a greatPolish cross country skier Justyna Kowalczyk who has been competing since 2000. Kowalczyk is a double Olympic Champion and a double World Champion.

SAILINGSailing is a discipline and water tourism including yachting motorboat. Sailing can be divided into racing and tourism marine and yacht and windsurfing.
