Some of these units are more than 100 years old. Even the buildings that were built in the 70’s and 80’s have toilet flow rates of 3.5-7 GPF. Now consider that our toilets are 1.0 GPF. Going low flow pays it does not cost
If you replace a pre-1980 model toilet that uses 7 gallon per flush you will save 5.4 gallons per flush or 77%.

And again this is based not on our 1.0 GPF but on the standard 1.6 GPF toilet.
