oman has started its initiative towards waste management thanks to the stand taken by the sultan of oman. A new sector law governing waste management in oman, the oman environmental services Holding Company (be’ah) has the mandate to restructure and privatize the countries solid waste structure. the government has set up a plan to establish 16 state of the art landfills and 65 waste transfer stations and 4 waste treatment plants as its initial step towards meeting the global standards of waste management. Progress has started with this regards, however issues lie with the lack of a structured regulation. the conference will address all these issues with the happenings, case studies and best practices within the region and globally creating a platform to learn and network with industry people.
