Built around People

At EcoMondis, we are customer focused because we are people focused. As we increasingly operate on a global scale, it is essential that we nurture close relationships with each of our fuel consumers. It is primarily the management of these valued relationships which has facilitated our growth. We know that to prosper, we need to understand the fuel requirements and specifications of each customer, and then deliver what we say we will, time after time. EcoMondis has the experience and operational ability to deliver fuel that meets the agreed specification, in agreed volumes, on a consistent basis.

EcoMondis was amongst the first companies in Europe to produce Solid Recoverable Fuel (SRF). As a result of our early entry into this new market, we have developed the ability to produce a variety of fuel specifications to meet the needs of cement companies and power stations.

Our relationships with haulage and shipping companies are well developed. Our sister company, Greyhound Recycling and Recovery, is one of Ireland’s leading exporters. Not only can we ensure that we secure extremely competitive rates gained through the scale of our export activity and considerate negotiation, we can also provide high flexibility and complete reliability in our logistics services.

Our Company

EcoMondis is leading the advancement of waste derived alternative fuels as a method to both displace the consumption of fossil fuels in the production of heat and power and to reduce the dependency on landfill in the disposal of commercial waste. We believe that current consumption of fossil fuels is neither commercially or environmentally sustainable.

Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, and with offices in London (UK) and Shanghai (China), EcoMondis is a privately owned business, retaining the ability to make decisions quickly and offer flexibility to our customers. The volume of fuel which we produce and supply on an annual basis is growing significantly, ensuring the sustainability of our business into the future.

Solid Recoverable Fuel

EcoMondis produces and supplies a variety of different specifications of Solid Recoverable Fuels to meet the needs of our customers. SRF, also referred to as Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) in some local markets, is an alternative fuel derived from the mechanical treatment of Dry Commercial Waste. Therefore, it predominantly consists of plastics and paper which cannot be segregated and recycled. SRF is recognised as a fuel and does not create the requirement for plants to install expensive exhaust air treatment as it will not produce extra contaminants.

Why Consume Solid Recoverable Fuel?

The consumption of SRF in place of coal or pet coke will save your business money. Solid Recoverable Fuel is an established fuel in Europe in particular, with cement companies typically substituting between 30 and 50% of their previous coal/pet coke with this material. With c 60% biomass, SRF is both environmentally friendly and sustainable.

ERFO Economic Cost Benefit Analysis: SRF vs Coal

Co-Processing in Cement Plant

SRF Calorific Value(kJ/Kg) 18,000

Energetic Savings (€/T SRF) €48.5

CO2 Savings (€/T SRF) €12

Over Cost Investments (€/T SRF) €-6.70

Over Cost Operations (€/T SRF) €-3.30

Potential Value (€/T SRF) €50.50

Invest: Storage / Injection/CI By-Pass. Pet Coke Price €70/T. (26 gJ/T)

As outlined in the above table, SRF has the potential to save companies approximately e50, for every tonne of the material consumed instead of coal.

Our Alternative Fuel

There are three key reasons as to why your company should consider partnering with EcoMondis, for the supply of waste derived alternative fuels:

(a) Operational Excellence EcoMondis has the ability to produce both consistent volume and consistent quality SRF material to meet

the needs of your business. Our Production Managers measure the quality of the in-feed materials on a daily basis, ensuring that only suitable Dry Commercial Waste is processed. Equally, our on-site testing procedures ensure that fuel sent to your site is tested to check that it meets the agreed specification. Our infrastructure is proactively maintained, ensuring that our production facilities can run 24/7, without fail.

Our logistical and administrative expertise ensures that we can execute delivery of this material, within specification and on time, to all of our customer sites.

(b) Experience / Proven Reputation EcoMondis has been producing Solid Recoverable Fuel for almost 10 years. The Company has invested in

the pioneering of this technology in the Irish market, and its subsequent expansion abroad. As an established player in the market, EcoMondis has secured long term contracts with numerous high volume consumers of our product. Our experience to date ensures that we have developed flexibility in our production and supply process, enabling us to meet the unique needs of each customer. We have proven that we can deliver.

(c) Sustainability of Production and Supply EcoMondis has invested heavily in the development and expansion of our SRF production capabilities. The

company has proven that the business model is both sustainable and profitable. We view the production of alternative fuels, particularly SRF, to be a growth market and one which is currently underdeveloped. Therefore, the company will continue to invest in SRF production and the delivery of consistent quality SRF material to our primary customers, in line with our contractual obligations.
