Warrior Writers has organized hundreds of retreats, conferences, workshops, art exhibitions, and performances with veterans throughout the United States since 2007. Warrior Writers offers:

Writing & Art WorkshopsOur workshops provide writing and art instruction and encouragement and are open to all veterans, service members, military families, and members of the community.

Warrior Writers offers writing prompts and feedback to activate the sharing of stories, opinions, and ideas about various military issues and experiences. These welcoming and casual workshops often inspire veterans and family members to record their own history and release bottled-up thoughts and stories artistically.

Training & Conferences We offer Working with Veterans 101 training for groups, individuals, university staff and students, artists, healers, and the community.

Veterans and Community Conferences (VCCs) are weekend retreats focused on art-making and community-building, open to veterans, artists, and supporters. VCCs offer creative writing and visual art workshops, seminars focused on building healthy relationships between veterans and their communities, and often include stress-relieving practices such as massage and acupuncture.

Warrior Writers supports and inspires veterans through creativity, encouraging an open dialogue between veterans and the greater civilian community, in order to promote connection and understanding.

Warrior Writers encourages veteran leadership and has a long reputation of posi-tive involvement in the veteran community. We’ve worked with a variety of institutions, libraries, non-profit organizations, uni-versities, and artists from many different backgrounds.

We value working with an array of programs and perspectives

as a way to expand our reach and diversity.

Along with organizing performances and art exhibits, Warrior Writers has published four anthologies of writing and artwork created primarily by post 9/11 veterans & active-duty service-members. The books are available for purchase on our award-winning website, which also showcases the work of over 30 veteran writers and artists.
