Greetings and welcome to a new year! Our WGM, Margi Wheeler and WGP, Chuck Merckle will be leading all of us in the “Symphony of Stars.” I hope that all of us can come together and make some beautiful music throughout the year.
Our theme this year is “Hearts of Gold” and we are honoring the five star points. I am sure that each of you can be that person with a “Heart of Gold” to a friend, neighbor, or family member with an act of kindness. Who knows, maybe a random word or smile has helped someone brighten their day.
Trustees: Dan Harris, Letisha Ruth, Carol Grubel Budget: Darcie Miller, Steve Ekleberry, Teresa Harris, Sharon Kloepfer

The Retired 2019 COA
What a wonderful time the 2019 COA
and her Administrative
Assistant (husband, Ron) are having
since the 30th of September. We
are once again able to watch a movie on
TV without being interrupted
by phone calls. We get up in the morning, look at our I-pads or
computers and there are only 7 or 8 e-mails instead of the daily 50
to 70, go to a meeting without taking two session zipper books that
contains about 400 pages of information on different committees that
members have questions for, and able to go out to eat without
hurrying home to catch up on questions for members from Ohio, and all
over the United States. If you think I am making this up, ask any
past COA!
It truly was an honor to be chosen as the 2019 Chairman of
Arrangements, but all good things must come to an end, and I am more
than ready to just go to meetings and enjoy seeing OES sisters and
brothers. The session is a huge event with more than 1,060 hotel room
nights used, 16 food events serving 2,200 people, numerous rental
agreements, about 1,300 registrants meeting on 4 days. Set up starts
on Monday and the last items are removed from Kalahari the following
Monday. I wish for Jennifer Garringer, the 2020 COA, all the very
best, and hope that as she works on this 4th year held at Kalahari,
some things that have been done in the previous three years will help
her in solving the problems that will come up for her in 2020.
I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge my pages and aides,
and all the 130+ committee members who worked with me, they were
and
are the very BEST! I am looking forward to my last meeting to be held
at the Upper Sandusky Masonic Center, Sunday, November 17, at 2:30
p.m. This is where all authority is turned over from the 2019 to the
2020 staff. If you see me smiling on or after that date, know that
the TRANSITION WENT WELL!

Hello, Sisters and Brothers. My years as your Deputy Grand Matron are
now officially over. At our Grand Chapter Session held at Kalahari in
September I was honored to pass the Deputy Grand Chapter pin on to
Sharon Riffle of District 5 from Cornelia Chapter in Republic. She and I
worked together in 2019. For the year 2020 our Worthy Grand
Matron, Margi Wheeler, appointed 22 Deputies to cover our 28
Districts. This year it was decided that any district that had less than
than four chapters would be coupled with the other District in their
region and have one Deputy for both. It was both a sad time having my
year end but also a happy time seeing a friend and fellow deputy take
over the reins. I want to thank my chapter and district one last time for
all the support and love you have given me. Also, thank you to Sandi
Herman and Kelly Cholodowitch for having faith in me to do this job.
Now the time has arrived to concentrate on my next job as the
President of District 10. What a great place to be.
In Star Love, Roberta Eklebery
