Ware Priory offers two fantastic venues in which to hold your wedding or celebration. Whetheryou are looking for a historic or contemporary setting, wanting a civil ceremony, a weddingreception or perhaps both, then we are here to make sure you have the perfect day.

Perhaps you are planning to get married immediately or you are looking slightly further ahead,maybe you are planning a spectacular celebration or an intimate gathering with close friends andfamily. Whatever your decision, your wedding is one of the most treasured, special and importantdays of your life and our experienced and dedicated team will help you plan your day ensuring itruns as smoothly as possible.

If your ceremony is to take place at Ware Priory we know that our rooms provide the dignity andhistory so important for this special occasion. The Priory Hall, the Hadsley Room, the Conservatoryand the Council Chamber are each licensed for a civil ceremony, so there is plenty of choice for yourservice.

Each room has plenty of natural light, historical features, high ceilings and period décor which addsto the occasion and creates an unforgettable atmosphere and environment for your special day.

The historic Ware Priory offers a venue steeped in atmospherewith period architecture dating back to medieval times. ThePriory Hall features gothic stone arches, stained glass windowsand has the remnants of Victorian Trompe l’oeil, which aremurals painted in a three-dimensional effect. You enterthrough our Jacobean front door at the corner of the old cloisterarcade. The Priory Hall can also be used for WeddingReceptions as well as Ceremonies or, indeed, for both parts ofyour day

Following your ceremony, you can enjoy a drinks reception in our wonderful riverside gardenswhich also provide the perfect setting for your photographs, whether in front of the Priory itself,in the beautiful landscaped gardens or perhaps on one of our bridges overlooking the river.

Your wedding breakfast will be served in your chosen roomand can be a formal sit-down meal, an informal buffet or perhapsa barbecue, all prepared and served by our highly skilledin-house catering partners. We can accommodate a smallgathering in an intimate setting or a large party of up to 160of your guests

The Conservatory offers a bright spacious interior with anintimate atmosphere at night. Large French windows open onto the gardens with access to the River Lea, where woodenbridges access the Priory Island.

For a contemporary setting we have the Riverside Suite situated within Fletcher's Lea. With itsmodern and spacious surroundings, it is an ideal larger venue for wedding ceremonies, receptionsand celebration parties and can accommodate upt to 160 guests for dining and 220 guests for abuffet setting. Fletcher ’s Lea is a standalone building which affords exclusivity as all catering andbar facilities are housed within it. Additionally, it has its own private terrace offering views of theRiver Lea vas well as access to all the gardens within the Priory Estate.

Photographs

If you are looking for the ideal spot for photographs then wehave several to choose from. Arriving at the front of the Priorywith the wedding car, signing the register in front of thestained glass windows in the Priory Hall or using the 14thCentury refectory table in our late-medieval Hadsley Room.There is that all-important confetti shot under the wisteriaarchway and several idyllic spots in the gardens or by the river.

Winter Wonderland

There is nothing more magicalthan a Winter Wedding, whethera lavish affair with a large numberof guests or a much more intimatesetting.

If you are looking for a ChristmasWedding then we can add somesimple touches, such as mistletoeabove the door, a fizzy wintercocktail or a warming mulledwine when your guests arrive.

If you are lucky enough to get a lightdusting of snow our gardens areideal for your photos, althoughsnowfall cannot be guaranteed!

The function rooms that are licensed for civil ceremonies vary in size and character and canaccommodate a small, intimate number or up to 160 guests for a wedding breakfast. Our dedicatedwedding co-ordinators will recommend some of our experienced suppliers to help you set thescene, and guide you through our menus to help you select the most delicious dishes and themost appropriate wines.
