Marketing approach in waqfmanagement should always adhere to the principles set under sharia’. This is best depicted using the Model of Service Marketing Triangle Based on Islam (SMTBI) as shown in the diagram1 opposite.
The SMTBI model shows the three interlinked components in waqfmanagement (University Board of Director, University Waqf Center and al-Waqif) working together to develop, promote and deliver the implementation of waqf.
There are three types of marketing activities within the triangle which must be successfully carried out for a waqf to succeed, namely external, internal and interactive marketing. These three marketing activities are essential for building and maintaining relationship with al-Waqif.
The core of SMTBI model is TAWHEED, which guides all activities according to sharia’.
