YOUNG ARTISTS SCHOLARSHIP WINNER To Thur 12 Jul Fine Arts Whanganui Gallery, 17 Taupo Quay A captivating exhibition by Mikayla Baldwin who won both the Fine Arts Whanganui Young Artists Scholarship and the People’s Choice Award in 2017. Mikayla, a year 13 Wanganui High School student, is a printmaker whose surrealist drypoint etchings contain quirky animals with human traits, whimsy and humour. Her work is influenced by the charming paintings of Joanna Braithwaite. Mikayla intends to go to University next year to study Fine Arts or Design.
