Kindergarten Child Care Our Kindergarten Child Care (KCC) program operates out of the KinderHouse on 16Wallace Ave. We are a state licensed facility, with caring staff to provide a safe and funenvironment for children of working parents or anyone who requires such care. No one isturned away for inability to pay; we accept Care for Kids and provide financial aid. Weprovide wrap around care for students in kindergarten. The AM program runs from6:45AM until they are brought to the bus at noon to attend PM kindergarten. They maythen attend PM care at their school site. Students who attend AM kindergarten arebrought to the Y by the bus after dismissal, and attend the program until 6:15PM. Theymay also attend AM care at their school sites. Students bring their own lunch, and are pro-vided both AM and PM snacks. Children swim once a week, and have music and gymenrichment weekly. Computers are available in our media room. Games and manipulativetoys are always available. Along with the gym, the children have a playscape in the backyard. The staff at KinderHouse is warm, nurturing, experienced, and fun. School Age Child Care The School Age Child Care Program is located in all 8 elementary schools, with Holy

Trinity students being bused Moses YBeach. Our hours of operation arefrom 6:45AM until the start of schooland from dismissal until 6:15PM. Weare a state licensed facility, with car-ing staff to provide a safe and funenvironment for children of workingparents or anyone who requires suchcare. We stress a healthy spirit, mindand body. To help achieve this, weoffer healthy snacks in both themorning and afternoon. Homework

time is held every afternoon, with staff always present and ready to offer assistance. Weutilize either the gym or playground daily to help keep the children active. Board games,tabletop activities, and craft projects are also a daily part of the program. The children alsoparticipate in monthly community service projects. The YMCA’s core values of Caring,Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility are some of the important things that make us dif-ferent from other child care facilities.

Middle School Child Care The Wallingford YMCA Middle School Afterschool Program is a licensed after school pro-gram running from the end of school until 6:00PM. Teens are bused to the YMCA/RotaryTeen Center from both middle schools at the close of school. Daily, students may partici-pate in sports activities at Doolittle Park, YMCA fitness classes, and have full use of the

YMCA/Rotary Teen Center. They are provided with a healthy snack and homework timeduring the afternoon.

Corporate Child Care The Wallingford Family YMCA has been providing quality infant, toddler, and preschoolcare for 25 years. For the times you can?t be there yourself, the YMCA supports yourefforts to nurture the healthy growth of your child in spirit, mind, and body. It providessafe, affordable, high-quality care so you can have peace of mind while you work to helpyour family succeed. 8 weeks to 12 months Our use of primary care givers for infants encourages open communication between thecare giver and the parent and helps bridge the gap between home and the center. 1 year to 5 years In an age-appropriate environment, experienced staff provides developmentally appropri-ate programs for each individual age group. Our curriculum is based on the interests andneeds of the children and promotes emotional, social, physical, and cognitive develop-ment. Program enhancements include: Family Nights @ the YMCA. THE EARLY LEARNING CENTER AT GAYLORD HOSPITAL A joint venture with Gaylord Hospital, the center is located on the grounds of GaylordHospital. The center is open Monday-Friday, 6:45AM-5:30PM. Full and part time optionsare available

THE LEARNING COMMUNITY AT CHOTE-ROSEMARY HALL Located on the campus of Choate Rosemary Hall, the Learning Community is open yearround Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-6:00PM. Full and part time options are available.

ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT - All-Day Kindergarten The YMCA All Day Kindergarten occupies four spacious rooms on the 2nd floor ofKinderHouse, located at 16 Wallace Street, Wallingford, CT. An enclosed playground, pic-nic tables and playscape provide a safe, outdoor area. The Wallingford YMCA was first toventure in operating a full day Kindergarten Program in the Wallingford Community andis 15 years young. Academic Program runs from 9:00AM-3:00PM. Extended Day hoursmeet the needs of working parents for both before and after school care, 6:45AM-9:00AMand/or 3:00PM-6:00PM. The All-Day Kindergarten aimsto meet the developmental needs of each child.Scheduling, pacing and rhythm of each activity are con-sistent with recognized principles of childhood educa-tion.

The All-Day Kindergarten provides creative opportunities and experience, which stimulate a child?sphysical, social, intellectual and emotional development.Students benefit from small class size, 1:1 instruction andthe presence of two teachers daily. Handwriting, phonics,math, science, social studies and developmental conceptsare part our daily lessons. Enrichment programs includeReach for the Stars Reading Program, PAF (PreventingAcademic Failure) approach to handwriting, reading andphonics, Computer Tots computer classes, field trips,swim lessons, art, music and physical education.
