Its Whats Happening! ThanksgivingExtinguish the Lies NOT the Spirit!

November is the month in which we celebrate Thanksgivings. It isalso American Indian Heritage Month. It is a month of pride and warmth,

but all that joy is overshadowed by the assault of stereotypical images of In-dians that begin to appear on TV, newspapers, costumes, and greeting cards

around Halloween and continue throughout Thanksgiving. The problem is that part of what you and I learned in our own child-

hood about the Pilgrims and Squanto and the First Thanksgiving is a mixture of both history and

myth. But the theme of Thanksgiving has truth and integrity far above and beyond what we and our for-

bears have made of it. Thanksgiving is a bigger concept than just the story of the founding of the Ply-

    mouth Plantation.

However, we do not have to lie about the history. We must eliminate the myths surrounding

Thanksgiving. How can we say we are grateful to the Creator when we are degrading Gods creation

    (the Native American Indians)?

    Here are a few facts:

    1. The Puritans were not just simple religious conservatives persecuted by the King and the Church of

England, they were political revolutionaries who not only intended to overthrow the government of

England, but who actually did so in 1649.

What Your History Book Left Out.

    Noble Drew AliBy Hakim Ziyad-Bey

January 8th, 1886, NobleDrew Ali, was born in

the territory where theState of North Carolinadoes business on namedat birth Timothy Drew.

Sultan Abdul Aziz IbuSaud gave him his free na-

tional attribute Sheik SharifAbdul Ali, better known as Noble Drew Ali.

He traveled abroad studying self-mastery throughmystic disciplines known as Moorish Science.

Noble Drew Ali revealed to the peoples of theAmericasthat the European colonists obscured, destroyed

and misrepresented records and history of the in-digenous Moors of the Americas ( known asAmexem, Al Mauritania, Al Moroc). He set out toreconstruct the Moors buried history and restore

their divine creed and national parentage identity.Moors are unaware of who they really are because

of disparaging treatment under the law and an ed-ited educational system.

Noble Drew Ali reconnected the lines around thecircle of Birthright, Nationality, and Divine Creedand their link to the land right under your feet.He correctly expressed that the people incorrectlylabeled Negro, Black, colored, Indian and Ethio-

pian are linked by birthright to this land here inAmerica (North West Amexem). These labelswere created in order to separate the people

from the land. Notice how most people you askdont really know where they come from?

When asked, what should be studied the Noble(pbbh) replied, Study self and when you finish,

study self again. He also suggested studying all

religions from a scientific and psycho-spiritual

    base.

At this point, if this were a Spike lee joint or aKeenin Ivory Waynes movie you would see thelittle man pop out of the corner saying Message!

Both Muslims and Christians have their reserva-tions in learning about the Noble. As soon asChristians hear Islamism, incorrect thoughts of

being converted and having to pray five times aday and not being able to eat pork come to mind. For Muslims, seeing the words Prophet before his

name conjures up the surah (Chapter) that explainsProphet Mohammed (*pbbh) was the seal of the

prophets. So minds turn away from the facts in-stead of getting the complete message. Islamismis a set of ideologies holding that Islam is not onlya religion but also a political system that says wemust return to our roots, and unite politically.

The facts remain something that we are doing isnot working and the solutions cannot come fromoutside of ourselves. Michael Jackson said it best:We have to look at the (wo)man in the mirror.

Changing ourselves will change the world. Focus-ing on an invisible outside enemy will always leadto wasted energy, exhausted efforts with the prob-lems still in place when you are done.

Noble Drew Ali was the first national and interna-tional Moorish American Representative to Pro-claim and declare the Moors as a nation in

America. He replanted the Moorish flag here on

    American land.

Most of the civil rights leaders, that have come

after Noble Drew Ali have stood from the positionof using the misnomer (caste system terms) black,

    Negro, colored, Afro-American, etc.

Noble Drew Ali taught that political fictions can-not be identified with the family of nations andcould not have civil liberties and human rights as anatural being in law.The Dred Scott case has never been overturned soit still stands. It stated that, neither he, nor any per-son of African ancestry, could claim citizenship inthe United States. Therefore, Scott could not bringsuit in federal court under diversity of citizenshiprules.

We have to know, understand why, and take stepsto correct the mistakes. We were never meant to be citizens of the U.S.We already have our own status; now we have totrace our steps and learn what is within us already.

In 1928, Noble Drew Ali attended the Pan Ameri-can conference in Havana, Cuba, where he regis-tered Moorish Americans as a new nation andSovereign power. Many heads of state, includingSecretary of State Charles Evens Hughes, under

President Warren Harding attended the confer-ence.

With Peace and love; to move forward, we have toforgive ourselves. Our answers are settling aroundus at all times, falling like manna from the Creator.

To be continuedNoble Drew Ali received a copy of a mandate forthe land which the United States had been occupy-ing on an expired mandate since 1871.

    (ThanksgivingExtinguishing the Lies)

The Puritans came to America not just inone ship (the Mayflower) but in a hundredothers as well, with every intention of tak-ing the land away from its native people to

    build their prophesied Holy Kingdom.

The Pilgrims were victims of bigotry inEngland, but some of them were them-selves religious bigots. They saw them-selves as the Chosen Elect mentioned in

the book of Revelation. The rigid funda-mentalism is best illustrated in the writtentext of the Thanksgiving sermon deliveredat Plymouth in 1623 by Mather Elder. In

it, Mather Elder gave special thanks to God

for the devastating plague of smallpoxwhich wiped out the majority of the Wam-

panoag Indians who had been their bene-factors. He praised God for destroyingchiefly young men and children, the very

seeds of increase, thus clearing the foreststo make way for better growth.

The Wampanoag Indians were notfriendly savages, nor were they invited

out of the goodness of the Pilgrims hearts

to share the fruits of the Pilgrims harvest

in demonstration of Christian charity andinterracial brotherhood. The Wampanoagwere members of a widespread confeder-acy of Algonkian-speaking peoples knownas the League of the Delaware. For 600years they had been defending themselvesfrom the Iroquois, and for the last 100years they had also encountered Europeanfishermen, explorers, and slavers who had

been raiding their coastal villages. Theyknew something of white people, and theydid not fully trust them. But their religionhad taught them that they were to givecharity to the helpless and hospitality toanyone who came to them with emptyhands. The Indians ended up bringing themajority of the food for the feast.

A generation later, the Indian and whitechildren of that Thanksgiving were strivingto kill each other in the genocidal conflictknown as King Philips War. At the end of

that conflict most of the New England In-dians were either exterminated or refugeesamong the French in Canada, or they weresold into slavery in the Carolinas by thePuritans.

Now, this paints a different picture of whatwe learned in the 1890s & 1900s about the FirstThanksgiving. This was the era of the melting

pot theory of social progress, and public educa-

tion was a major tool for social unity. It was with

this in mind that the federal government declaredthe last Thursday in November as the legal holidayof Thanksgiving in 1898.

Extinguishing the lie of The First Thanks-

giving does not mean extinguishing the spirit of

Thanksgiving. There is a true Thanksgiving storyof Plymouth Plantation. But there always has beena Thanksgiving story of some kind or other for as

long as there have been human beings. There wasalso a First Thanksgiving in America, but it was

celebrated some 30,000 years ago. Thanksgivingbecame associated with giving thanks for the har-vest of the land. Every last Thursday in Novemberwe now partake in one of the oldest and most uni-versal of human celebrations, and there are manyThanksgiving stories to tell!

    THE SPREAD

    CHAPTER 1

Looking down from my perch on the topbunk, in cell UU, J14 Pod of the David L. MossDetention Center for Justice, my thoughts are in afog. Its FridayI cant believe Im still here. A

cheesy romance novel (it was that or the Bible)

and my 50 page pad sit beside me. From here, Ihave full view of the dining area set with tablesand chairshard plastic chairs, sturdy light tan,the kind that gives slightly when you lean back. These would go great in my backyard. The ta-

blesgrey mushroom tops with black rubber orhard plastic trimming, sturdy durablethey didnot tip over.

Like I said its Friday. Having no idea I would be

held against my will this long, bewildered

thoughts of spending another weekend here settlearound me like a blanket on a cool night. Thoughtsof home emerge a warm plate of food permeatingthroughout the house, my son pattering about busyat his learning playin a steady routine of climb-ing, jumping, measuring, counting and noticingevery nuance of the house. Move anything just ahair out of place and he would notice it right away.I could picture his smiling bright face gleefullylooking around for what he could get into next.

Chances are I would not like it.

Through the warm thoughts of home, I watchedthe Mexican inmates gathering for what seemedlike a family meal, but really was what inmatescall spread a mixture of snacks (roman noodles,

Doritos, cheesy beef sticks etc). With laughter and

comrodery they cajoled each other as one of themprepared the spread. I was not eating. For what

its worth, I wasnt trying to get involved in the

culture of being incarcerated. Nevertheless, thepull of watching this family within walls bring asince of La raza la familia in here was warming.Whether it was, playing handball or going through

a workout routine the closeness was infectious. Aweek later, my cellmate was making a spread and Isaid I would join and add to it.

    Lets Light up the World

    By Mandy Martin

A man walking on a dark path will encoun-ter all kinds of unexpected obstructions and un-

pleasant things because he is unable to see what is

right in front of him. If the path is lit, he isequipped with clarity of vision and will surely see

what surrounds him. The more his path is lit, themore he sees. As he grows in wisdom, he is atten-tive and may avoid some of the unpleasant en-counters; the pot-holes, rocks and dog-poop on the

path. Yet, he knows there will be some unavoid-

able obstructions: hills to climb, storms to encoun-ter and rivers to cross, because it is simply the na-ture of the path in this world of illusion. Experi-ence will teach him that whatsoever he seeks, hewill surely find and what his eyes see is not allthere is. His path is governed by the law ofCause and Effect and whether made in the pre-

sent or past, his choices along with those of all ofhumanity have created the path. He has agreed tothe journey; his every experience is designed toteach, enrich and lift him. He should be careful

not to become distracted by any of the negativeencounters or obstructions along the way, for thisis to collect the negative energy and feed it withhis own, solidifying the illusion. If he affirms thenegativity he sees, he will become an unconsciouscreator, pulling what he collects into his own per-sonal experience and weaving it into a heavy,mind-made garment, wearing it wherever he goes, feeding it to others and thereby helping it to grow.In essence, he carries the darkness with him be-cause negativity only invites and breeds negativity.

Carrying negative energy of any kind doesnot serve him or others. He would be wise to walkhis path with purpose, staying alert, seeing allthings as they are, as temporary effects, created byminds, effects that can be altered; understandingthat only Light will eliminate darkness. Eventu-

ally he learns that he is not a victim; he is a creatorwith the ability to consciously create, and everymoment is potent with immeasurable joy.We have wandered in the darkness for much toolong. Every moment is an invitation to illuminatethe darkness. It is time to usher in a new age, forwe are the agents of change the world has been

waiting for and we have not come to be carriers ofthe darkness. We have come as bearers of theLight. Lets get busy and Light up the world!

    For Muslims Only-

    W.D. FARD

    Was not a Muslim

W.D. Fard was no more a Muslimthan either Americus Vespucci or Christo- pher Columbus were Americans, and nomore than Abraham was a Jew. The explor-ers were Italian, respectively. As theyopened the doors for other immigrants tocome to the western hemisphere, so FARDopened doors for the spread of new ideas to poor people worldwide. He actually wentinto one of the worst communities in Amer-ica; Black Bottom, Detroit. He knocked ondoors to gain entrance as a peddler of silksand other fine cloths at surprisingly cheap prices. One of the persons whom he metwas Mrs. Claire Poole who later introducedhim to her husband, Elijah.

Islam had been stamped out andsometimes beaten out of the newly arrivedslaves coming to America (RememberKunta Kente?). FARD looked for messen-gers to spread his supreme knowledge andforms of discipline, some of which several

    African tribes had already practiced.

It has been reported that among his few butsuccessful students were Noble Drew Ali,Father Devine, Daddy Grace, and ofcourse, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad,May ALLAH, SWT, Forgive them theirsins and Grant them paradise.

Later, W.D. FARDs thoughts andknowledge of mathematics and sciencewere recorded by his 17 year old secretary. She was married to John Muhammad, theyounger brother of the Honorable ElijahMuhammad. According to his successor,Minister Louis Farrakhan, his advancedwritings, unusual works and elaborate plans involving science, mathematics and

an unprecedented way of living have beenrecently uncovered in an attic by family

    members.

    Did you know?

The term Africa got its start as a Roman province. The first Roman province after Rome finally de-feated Carthage, a Phoenician city-state in thethird Punic War. The Roman Republic set up the

province, in 146 BC named Africa Proconsularisor Africa Vetus (Old Africa) Carthage comprisedof the territory of present-day northern Tunisia, northeastern Algeria and the Mediterranean coastof what is today western Libya. Arabs later namedthe same area the original province Ifriqiya a ren-dering of Africa. The Phoenicians were also thefirst state-level society to make extensive use ofthe alphabet. The Phoenician phonetic alphabet isthe predecessor to most modern languages. The

Phoenicians, known as Moors were masters of theseas and trade routes and Rome was a growing na-tion that wanted a piece of the action (all of it). When you lose in war, you lose everything, women, your religion, your culture, the right toeducate your own children, what you call your-selves and how you identify with others in thefamily of nations of the world. This is how themodern day people called Blacks; African Ameri-cans etc. began to lose their identity. This is not a

pretty history but it is the real one. Knowing your-

self will help rebuild those pieces so we can reallyrepair our nation. Understanding your connectionto history is a key part in regaining your place inthe world. This explains at least some of the discord sur-rounding the word Africa known as Akebulan be-fore its acquisition.
