Vice-President and General Manager of Macy’s, and as General Manager of Kohl’s, Wali Nassery worked closely with fashion house Hugo Boss. Hugo Boss’ origins date back to 1924, when it was established by clothier Hugo Boss.

With the rise of Hitler in the 1930s, Boss found steady work supplying National Socialist uniforms. He also joined the Nazi Party and a sponsoring member of the infamous SS.

The Hugo Boss trademark was registered in 1977. That same year, the company started its long career of sponsoring sports – in this case, automotive racing. In the 1980s, it would also sponsor golfers and tennis players.

The first Hugo Boss perfume was introduced in 1984. Also that year, it was purchased by a Japanese group. In 1991, the Marzotto group acquired the majority stake in Hugo Boss. Then, in 1995, its first shoes were introduced.
