Waddamana/Lindisfarne Substations

This project is a consortium venture between Areva and Hazell Bros and involved the construction of a new substation at Waddamana and Lindisfarne for Transend.

The civil works package awarded to Hazell Bros. included site levelling and preparation, embankment construction, retaining walls (Including a Mass Bloc™ wall at Lindisfarne), concrete structures and footings, placement of conduits and pits, site drainage, oil containment and site finishing surface.

Scope of works included:• Clearing and stripping.• Construction of substation platforms including batters and retaining

walls.• Installation of platform drainage and associated pits.• Installation of conduit runs and pits.• Construction of reinforced concrete footings with hold down bolts

for electrical equipment.• Construction of a control building at Waddamana.• Installation of oil containment lines and tank.• Substation finishing surface and roads.

Subcontractor management including:• Installation of security fences.• Precast Panel Construction.• Mass Bloc™ Construction.
