We are so glad that you are with us today! Our service
will be to praise and worship God and to encourage and uplift us to face another week. We will sing (Eph. 5:19, Col. 3:16), pray (James 5:15-18), and partake of the Lord’s Supper to remember our Savior’s sacrifice on the cross (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 11:23-26). We will also give back a portion of the monetary blessings that God has granted us so that we can carry out His work in our community (1 Cor. 16:2, 2 Cor. 9:7). We will also study a lesson from His Word that will hopefully be applicable to our daily lives, so that we can be equipped to handle the pressures of this world and reach those outside of
Christ (2 Tim. 2:15). EldersBob Burton - 706-698-1345

SENTENCE SERMONS (House to House Heart to Heart)
• A little sin will add to your trouble, subtract from your energy, and multiply your difficulties.
• A big fall begins with a little stumble.
• Sin has two great powers; it reigns and it ruins.
• Sin is not a toy; it is a tyrant.
• Little sins add up to big trouble.
• There is no sin so little as not to kindle an eternal fire.
• Freedom is not the right to do as you will, but the power to do as you should. —Mark Posey
The calendar is playing tricks on us again because there is no way it can be October! Mila was officially four weeks old yesterday, and September was essentially a blur as we began adjusting to life with a newborn. Many of you are familiar with that transition, so you understand the constant sleep deprivation.
October is a hectic month for our church family, and I hope you will pick up a calendar from the table in the lobby. In addition to
all our church events, the Georgia Apple Festival will be here in Ellijay over the next two weekends bringing lots of visitors in town. Please remember that on both the 14th and the 21st we will have a worship service downtown in front of the courthouse for all those who will be working and cannot attend the regular service. Everyone is invited to join us at 8:30 AM both mornings.
Finally, I hope that you will start thinking about our 2019 Spiritual Growth Plan and mark October 21st on your calendar. That afternoon at 4:30 we will have our congregational meeting to brainstorm and begin developing our theme and activities for the upcoming year. Everyone’s input is valuable, and our shepherds want to hear from each member!
It is a blessing to be part of the Ellijay family; let’s have a great Lord’s Day together!
