How Does Financial Aid Work?
Financial Aid is money you can use to fund your education
You apply by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Today we will provide you an estimate of what you might be eligible for

Grants: Federal Pell Grant, and some state grant programs
Scholarships: Institutional Scholarships, Outside Scholarships
Veteran’s Benefits: Many of our programs are eligible to receive VA Benefits, we simply need a Certificate of Eligibility to determine what you qualify for
Campus Based Funding: Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant,
and Federal Work Study.

Direct Subsidized Loan: No interest accrues while in school, no credit check needed, low interest rate, flexible repayment options
Direct Unsubsidized Loan: Interest does accrue while in school, no credit check needed, low interest rate, flexible repayment options
PLUS Loan: A federal loan option for parents of dependent students, low fixed interest rates, credit based

Student Contribution: You can make payments with savings, assistance from family members, Employer Reimbursement, agencies
Institutional Loans: no credit check needed, loan repayment begins while in school, affordable repayment terms

What is the CARES Act?
On March 27, 2020, the COVID19 Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) was passed.
On April 9, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education issued guidance on the CARES Act funding to be issued to students in higher education.
Florida Career College will be distributing these funds $250/month moving forward until funds run out, as long as you meet the following criteria : Must be an active student
Must be in school for 30 days
Must not be on any type of leave of absence or externship
Must have applied and financial aid must be posted on student account
VA Students qualify
