1.0 Introduction

1.1 Background

“Vishwakarma Yojana” is provide the benefit of real work experience to

engineering students and simultaneously apply their technical knowledge in the

development of infrastructure in rural development.

Under this scheme, the villages of “Rurban” area will be adopted by the

engineering colleges under the Gujarat Technological University. The engineering

colleges would study the identified villages and make the recommendations on the

application of technology to achieve integrated and comprehensive development,

through project preparation and management.

1.2 Need of the study

Almost all future population growth in the next 40 years will be absorbed by

cities of the developing world, which are unprepared for such rapid expansion.

Planning needs to begin now to take advantage of the many benefits cities can

offer.

Therefore it is required to develop the rural village and provide the social and

infra- structure facilities to the village for decrease migration from village to city.

GTU is allotted to us one village in “VISHWAKARMA YOJNA” from Gujarat

state for surveying which is BED village nearby Jamnagar district.

This village is our study area in which we have to find out problems related to

various physical infrastucturefacilities ,Health facilities , Education facilities ,

and other problems related to civil engineering

Creation of infrastructure - connectivity, civic and social infrastructure along with

Provision of alternative livelihood generation are the key pillars.

Basic Physical Infrastructure – Water Supply, Transport, Sewerage and Solid

Waste Management should be the priority focus and be provided.

Basic Social Infrastructure – Health and Education facilities should be provided and

ensure proper delivery of facilities to village dwellers.

Promote integrated development of rural areas with provision of quality housing,

better connectivity, employment opportunities and supporting physical and social

infrastructure.

Reduce migration from rural to urban areas due to lack of basic services and

sufficient economic activities in rural areas.

Internal roads within village settlement, Efficient Mass Transportation systems to

improve connectivity between urban and rural areas, Public transportation facilities

that need to be developed like bus stops, transport depot etc.

Identification of sanitation facilities that need improvement – sewerage and

drainage line for household connection, door to door solid waste collection &

dumping facilities

Refurbishing of village lakes, water tanks and wells, construction of rain water

harvesting structures for sustainable Development.

Development of socio culture facilities like community hall, public library,

recreational activities and repairing of existing amenities

Repair & maintenance of Existing Public Buildings like Gram Panchayat, Public

Library, School Buildings, Health Center, and Public Toilet Block & Other.

1.5 Desired outcomes

Long-range planning must take place in a public forum, with opportunities

for public participation, if it is to be representative. The support of the community

can also foster improved implementation opportunities. An approach that has been

used successfully when planning for the future of a community involves preceding

the planning process with an exercise designed to develop vision of the future for

the “Vishwakarma Yojana”. By developing Rural India, the future scenario for

urbanization can be change in Sustainable manner.

4.2.3 Electricity Proposals

◊ Scenario

When we are think on make a good infrastructure at that time electricity is in the major

role because without electrical energy we can’t do anything innovative. We had seen

here total 5 to 6 transformers which has been working in good condition but it

maintenances and looking way is too much which is not good and adequate for village

citizen. Rural electrification is the process of which is provide electricity to rural areas.

Electricity is not only use for lighting and homework purposes, but it also use in many

farming operations, such as making ,hoisting of gain and also threating for storage

One of the least expensive, most reliable, and best proven electricity distribution

systems for rural electrification is single wire earth system This system is widely used

in countries such which has low population densities. There are some geographical

requirements necessary for its use. The basic infrastructure such as distribution

transformer and lines is made available in the not proper locality within the range of

the village. Any of the public places like Panchayt office, schools HC, community hall

has availability of power supply on demand .The ratings of distribution transformer

and LT lines to be provided in the village would be finalized as per the anticipated

number of connections decided in consultation with the Panchayt and Zila District

Administration who will also issue the necessary certificate of village electrification on

completion of the works.

◊ Existing Situation

As per government rules and regulation they are provide 24 hours electricity

supply for domestic as well as commercial area of village. For agriculture total

8 hours electricity provide by government sector (PGVCL).this supply is given

to only for agriculture areas and in this time farmers are doing own work for

village irrigation system. 24 hours Electricity supply is given for government

school building and also for hospitals. Road/street lights are controlling by only

Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB).
