SPF Schema Modeling – TSPE3043

The SmartPlant Foundation Schema Modeling course is pre-requisite training in the Process, Plant and Marine series of classes for SPF and VTL (Validation, Transformation and Loading) designed to introduce an administrator and a data

modeler to the SmartPlant non-integration data dictionary and structure. This course provides an introduction and understanding of meta-schema and schema concepts, an overview of the SmartPlant Schema definition, and a working

knowledge of the Schema Editor. The course also illustrates the concepts necessary to extend delivered data models to include custom properties and relationships in SPF. The steps to load the modified schema into the SPF database are

also covered. The class is presented as a combination of lecture sessions followed by hands-on activity periods.

SPF Admin II for VTL– TVTL3030

The SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) Administration II for VTL course is

a pre-requisite in a series of Process, Power, and Marine classes that is designed to introduce an administrator and/or data modeler

to the concepts and functionality available in the SPF product in preparation for attending VTL Administration training. This course

builds on the concepts and functionality that was introduced in the SPF Introduction and Administration I and the SPF Schema Modeling courses. The class begins with an overview of the

SmartPlant non-integration data model and continues with an overview of conditions and methods which are part of the

Administration GUI interface. This course also focuses on the SmartPlant Foundation Loader interface. Another major topic is the Workflow module which allows an administrator to configure

custom workflows. Also discussed is the ability to create and configure Ad Hoc Reports. The class is presented as a combination

of lecture sessions followed by hands-on activity periods.

VTL 3.x for Administrators - TVLT3130

The VTL (Validation, Transformation and Loading) 3.x for Administrators training is the first of two Process, Plant and Marine series of classes for VTL (Validation, Transformation and Loading) administrators designed to introduce an administrator to the concepts and steps needed to configure VTL for data execution. This course provides an introduction and understanding of VTL as well the installation of the product. The course also illustrates the process of preparing data for import, preparing the VTL Staging Area and configuring Reader Definitions. The definition of different kinds of validation rules and rule sets are also covered. Finally, reports, exporting data and VTL workflows will be discussed. The class is presented as a combination of lecture sessions followed by hands-on activity periods.

VTL 3.x for Data Users – TVLT2030

The VTL (Validation, Transformation and Loading) 3.x for Data Users training is the second of two Process, Plant and Marine series of classes for VTL (Validation, Transformation and Loading) data users designed to show users the steps needed to execute data validation and transformation needed to build a destination load file in the necessary format. This class will take a configured VTL system and explain the process for performing a data import, running data validation, executing reports, and running a data export. The ability to view the progress of each of the steps in the import, validation and export process will also be covered. The class is presented as a combination of lecture sessions followed by hands-on activity periods.
