CURRENT AVIATION INDUSTRY SHAPSHOT

• Within the next 5 years over 500 jobs and $110 million in investments will be created at BTV. (NEED CITATION)

• Vermont’s aviation industry employs 9,400 people, and is valued at $1 billion (VT Chamber of Commerce)

• Nationally, 10-12K additional technicians will be needed every year to replace retirees and support current growth projections – Currently only 8,000 new technicians certified each year– Vermont’s aviation business leaders have repeatedly cited

the lack of well-trained Vermonters as an impediment to business growth, specifically in the STEM disciplines.

• VAC is poised to ensure Vermont’s finest fill these gaps

• Emil Buehler Perpetual Trust

• Nonprofit fiscal agent is in creation.

• Advisory committee formed to ensure proper oversight and budget compliance
