    • The Cleveland Cavaliers will play their first home game of the 2018 Preseason tonight against the Boston Celtics. The Cavs will play at The Q again on Oct. 8 versus Indiana and close out the four-game preseason schedule on Oct. 12 in a neutral site home game at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center (Michigan State University) against Detroit.

    • The Cavaliers and Celtics squared off this past Tuesday (10/2) at TD Garden, with Cleveland winning by a score of 102-95. The Wine & Gold led by as many as 21 points in the wire-to-wire victory and had six players score in double figures (Kevin Love-17, Collin Sexton-15, Jordan Clarkson-12, David Nwaba-12, Cedi Osman-11, Rodney Hood-10). The defense also held Boston to a 5-31 (.161) mark from three-point territory.

    • KEVIN LOVE tallied a game-high 17 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 3FG, 5-7 FT), four rebounds and a steal in 17 minutes during Tuesday’s preseason win. Despite missing 23 games during the 2017-18 regular season, Love had 31 double-doubles, which was tied for 15th-most in the NBA. He earned his 5th NBA All-Star selection in 2017-18 and finished the season averaging 17.6 points and a team-high 9.3 rebounds (12th in NBA) in 28.0 minutes per game. He shot a career- high .880 from the foul line (12th in NBA) and was the only NBA player in 2017-18 to average at least 9.0 rebounds while making at least 125 threes.

    • On Tuesday, COLLIN SEXTON made his Cavaliers debut, tallying 15 points (5-11 FG, 2-3 3FG, 3-3 FT) and four rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench.

    • CEDI OSMAN had a solid all-around game with 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and four assists in 19 minutes at Boston.

    • In 2017-18, the Cavaliers advanced to the NBA Finals for the fourth straight year and fifth time in franchise history (2007, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018). Cleveland joined the Celtics (1957-1966, 1984-1987), Los Angeles Lakers (1982-1985), Miami Heat (2011-2014) and Golden State Warriors (2015-2018) as the only NBA franchises to make four consecutive Finals appearances.

    • The Cavs (50-32) finished the 2017-18 regular season with the 4th-best record in the Eastern Conference and went on to the postseason for the 4th year in a row (22nd overall in franchise history). Cleveland also won the Central Division title for the 4th straight year and notched their 4th straight 50-win season.

    • Last season, the Cavs ranked in the NBA’s Top 10 in offensive rating (110.6, 5th), PPG (110.9, 5th), FG% (.476, 5th), 3FG% (.372, 6th) and FT% (.779, 10th). Their 110.9 points per game was their second-highest scoring average in franchise history (114.1, 1979-80).

    • Cleveland’s reserves scored 59 points in Tuesday’s win at Boston. The Cavs averaged a franchise-record 41.2 points last season, which ranked 7th in the NBA. The previous franchise mark for the Cavs’ bench is 36.9 points set in 1991-92.
