Reading systems

Facilitate everyday life with modern reading systems

Reading systems help highly visually impaired or blind people to read text individually and independently. The systems convert text to speech and read them out with a clear voice. Volume and speed of the voice can be adjusted individually.

Reading systems capture printed text with a scanner and digitise it by using a text to speech e.g. OCR-function*. Large operating buttons in different shapes help the user to use the system with ease. Most reading systems are designed for the mobile use. Some systems are equipped with a low vision function.

The compact reading system VOXbox is user friendly, easy to operate and offers various options for customisation.

By pushing a single button documents are captured easily by the powerful external scanner within a few seconds. The scanner can be placed anywhere. Texts are read out by a clear and natural sounding voice. Reading speed and sound volume can be adjusted individually.

VOXbox is designed as a lightweighted, practical bag. Therefore it can be transported ergonomically and is immediately ready to start.

VOXbox can be upgraded by a battery option, the low vision module option and the 2in1-VOXviva option, to use the camera scanner with a PC, by just adding the VOXviva-software-CD. In combination with the low vision module and an external monitor, VOXbox serves as reading / magnifying system.

VOXviva combines a reading system with a video magnifier in a small camera that can be connected to a PC or a laptop.

In camera mode the user sees the life image of the camera and can use the mouse navigation without having to move the original. In documents mode VOXviva reads out loudly documents. At the same time the user can view them in a magnified mode and in the required colour combination on the monitor.

Choose from six different display modes e.g. the overview mode, representing the scanned document in your favourite colour combination. Choose between different display modes e.g. line by line or one word per line.

Operation is easy via your notebook- or PC keyboard or via a separate control unit. With the computer mouse images can be moved and magnified on the screen.
